Just looked through NeoGaf thread for the trailer, alot of people seem to complain the constant melee finisher animations. They are done on purpose to connect different scenes together like in the short gameplay reveal trailer from E3.

I like that pic and wouldn't mind if it was the final cover art.

I kinda hoped for that minimal black box cover with just DOOM written on it. Reading the title with nothing else in the cover just made a loud impact in my head, hard to explain it. But I love Conan O'Brien, had good laughs watching Clueless Gamer. It's weird though, arent the games on CG really really close to launch? Maybe Conan will reveal the release date!

GameInformer didn't say anything about the game feeling like going from arena to another. Perhaps the arenas are used well enough (and not constantly) for player not to feel like the game is just transitioning from one arena to another.

People just seeking for something to complain just for the sake of it. Notice how people aren't going how non-Doom it looks anymore so now they are frothing over customer screwing DLCs.

Resurrection of evil was a good expansion IMO.

Open space let's you move more freely in all dimensions, if you can say that. Maybe it will feel actually slower movement wise but I think more movement freedom increases the overall pace of the game.

I think it felt slightly slower than Quake 3 but I think it was due to how cramped the map actually was.

Didn't we upgrade shit in Heretic and Hexen too? I know not Doom, but very much Doom-like and best kind of old school FPS's.

Uh that song in the video sounds like hotel lobby / elevator music, not groovy hard rock.

Yeah if Beth really played a big part in the dev reboot I definitely think they are a publisher who truly respects the franchise.

was it ultimately Bethesda who told id to scrap Call of Doom or did they suddenly realize it themselves how deep a shitter they were diving into? Also, I fucking loved the way the music came in short bursts in sync with the combat encounters in the first portion of E3 gameplay. Then it turned to creepy ambient track.

I think the Mick Gordon stuff is really good if it stays consistent to the gameplay vids throughout the whole game.

Admitting to Machine Games making a decent game yet shitting over the fact that id holds alot more credibility with an established (and it's own) game franchise and is under serious pressure and expectations. I'm willing to bet "cookie cutter dumbed down crap" will be a very lonely opinion. Sure there will be disappointments in some aspects of the game, I'm sure, but downright denying everything that's been said and seen about the game is just lame.
