    Softmodded Xbox Doom?

    So the past few years I've been running cool emulators and stuff on my original Xbox. I found a Doom launcher for it called Xdoom (or Doomx) to play vanilla Doom 1 and 2 as well as any custom megawads. Is there any other launchers for an Xbox using Unleash X that have the extra features, like freelook, or a jump key?

    Since the PS1 Doom and Doom 64 are mentioned a few times I guess Ill say mine. For the longest time my only means to play Doom were the SNES port and the shareware. However I got a PS1 in 1996, with three games, Twisted Metal 2, Descent, and Mortal Kombat 3. At one point I was doing good enough in school to where my mom would let me rent a game for the weekend if I did my homework. One day I saw it, PS1 Doom! I picked it out and brought it home to play for two days. I plopped this in expecting it to be like the Shareware Doom with all the levels available, same audio, music, and gameplay. Then the title screen came on... That chilling title screen into, with the Doom logo slowly rising out of the flames with a pure black ground. As a twelve year old at the time, this sent chills down my spine, like never before. I started the game on the classic E1M1. Before I even pressed Up to walk forward Im already in a slight panic state. The creepy lighting and the omonus ambient music made me feel like I wasnt in a base, eager to kill some scary monsters, I was trapped in a building being watched and followed. The monster's sounds echoing through the hallways as they discovered me made me feel like I was hunted, underpowrered, and at the mercy of these demons and zombies.

    I dont do drugs, I just smoke weed. I do however have to take sleeping pills alot because I got a deadly combo of anxiety, autism, and low pain tolorance.

    @leodoom85 I eventually got to playing those. The Crushed level made it sound like babies and old people were being tortured off in the distance. That crap freaked me out!

    Doom as a scary game

    So i thought I'd post this here to maybe open up a discussion about the creepier scarier side of Doom. I know some people view it as a more action oriented series than horror, but i personally saw Doom as a creepy game growing up. Allow me to explain why. When i was about 10 years old I first played Doom, the SNES port (didn't have a computer yet so that was my only way to play the game for awhile.) It was my first FPS, moving around a 3d environment whilw viewing the world from the eyes of my character was a totally new experience in gaming for me. In this game world everything that's living is a horrible monster from the pits of hell, and wants nothing more than to cause me to have a horrible painful death. Enemies that acknowledged my presence would move around with the sole intent of wanting me to die, and judging by the amount of bloody dead bodies around KDITD, they did the same to everyone else that was here before me. It was a big source of fear and dread in my life due to my older family pushing Christianity and the fear of hell into me. Then a year later my mom got a Windows 95 PC, and I figured out how to use AOL to download the shareware Doom. And as much as i loved playing it the feeling of fear and dread intensified. The greater detail and lighting this game has over the SNES game got to me even more. The darker areas held all sorts of nastiness, plus the fact that this game was the first game i ever played where enemies have corpses, every other game i played before this had enemies that, when killed or defeated would disappear in a puff or an explosion, or would fall off the map like in a Mario game, this one had enemies leave coptrses that STAYED there, putting a greater idea in me that these monsters I'm defeating are dead. That combined put chills in me, and sorta still does, even as an adult. Anyway, that's just my take on how I identify Doom as a horror game. Anyone else have any feelings like that toward Doom?

    Doom 3 BFG Edition wont launch

    My bad, can somebody move this? Im able to get vanilla Doom 3 and RoE to work just fine but BFG Edition wont load up.

    @Chezza several times @Edward850 Radeon RX 580. Fully up to date. Odd thing was one day I was able to get it to load but it was a day none of my games vsync worked properly but BFG Edition booted just fine. Then I rebooted to try and get the screen tear caused by the no vsync to stop and it never booted up again

    Creepy sound mod I cant find anymore

    So I'm looking for this soundmod I once played with back when Doomsday getting the 3D models thing was kinda new. This sound pack essecnially replaced all the monster sounds with much creepier sounds. I remember distinctly that the zombies sounds were replaced with actual dialog, like when they first see you they say things like "I wanna kill you" and "Join us". They made the pinky demon death sounds creepier and the Icon of Sin's alter sound is replaced with what sounds like lots of distorted screaming and screeching. Anyone know what mod I'm talking about? I tried finding it on google for months and got nothing. Also can anyone recommend any creepy monster sounds mods that will work with Brutal Doom? I got the PSX and N64 sounds but I want a creepier one

    Search for a sound pack

    I remember a few years ago I played Doom with an alternate soundpack that made the game scarier. I don't remember what it was called but all I remember about it was the zombies had actual speech and said things like "Brains" and "I wanna kill you". And all the other monster sounds were pretty creepy, but other than that I don't remember anything about it. Does anybody know what I'm talking about? And does anybody have links to download it?

    Fear inducing wads?

    I like Doom 64's and Playstaion Doom's feeling of giving the player a good sense of fear and creepiness, almost like Silent Hill. Can anybody recommend any mods or wads for zDoom or Doomsday that can put a sense of fear or uneasiness like Doom 64 or Playstation Doom did? Like with quiet ambient music, scary looking monsters with equally scary sound effects, and dark unsettling levels with hell-like settings. Also, no screamer mods, like Ghouls Forest.

    Classic Doom 3 won't work

    I just got Doom 3 to work on my new computer but for some reason the classic Doom 3 mod won't work. Whenever I try to play it I get this error log. Can somebody tell me what I can do to make it work? Dumb it down for me, because I'm ignorant on modding Doom 3.
