I sort of did that, but then changed the rooms around a bit and added a bit more detail then the monsters. If you do exactly as what you've said, the map will be like a bad '94 level. -

All I want is a few stimpacks or medikits, it's just there's very little around the place. None of the other maps or difficulty settings should be touched... Only HMP, MAP10. -

I can do them (I haven't played Speed of Doom though), I'm just new to making slaughter maps. I'll get better over time of course... -

I didn't notice that, well, if you think it should be removed then go ahead. Also, add monsters if you want, although keep in mind this is supposed to be a relatively medium difficulty level. -

Well there was two reasons. 1: I hate revenants, and they kill me extremely quickly if there's loads of other crap to deal with at the same time. 2: If I didn't, they'd run down and that ledge would be plain and empty... Oh, and I used another invisible wall in one of the seperate areas to stop revenants attacking to early, but you don't notice it at all if I hadn't of said. Also, there was an invisible wall in my last map you hadn't a problem with. -

I put that there so the revenants don't attack you straight away in there, it was annoying. -

Wait, have you got the yellow key? If you have, have you been in the cave in the corner outside? The blue key is near that lift with the face textures on it that you thought was odd. It's behind some bars that you need to lower in the cave. If you're still having trouble, try watching the video I posted, it shows where all the keys and stuff is. -----UPDATE----- My new level is finished! Like I said, it's supposed to be an early map. The music again is temporary, from Reverie. It's called PATH'S OF PAIN. Check it out, I'm pretty sure there aren't any bugs but I bet there's at least one I missed. I am playing on HMP. I just hit a lot from revenants and other monsters that I didn't expect, and I got hit by some mancubus fireballs from far away that I didn't see. -

ANOTHER UPDATE!! I've just started on another map, I'm aiming for a MAP04/MAP05 map. There's about 69 monsters so far but I've only just started. Also, it's rather quiet here, I'm wondering if anybody's still working on this :/. Oh well, here's a few screenshots. ----------STARTING AREA---------- ----------ONE OF THE SEPERATE AREAS---------- Few monsters are shown but thre are more offscreen. :) -

Right, I've just got it and pressed some switch I found and went through a teleporter which has basically screwed me up. Why the hell is there like no health packs anywhere? I was on 4% health for half the map and then I get teleported into a room with loads of shotgun guys and arachnotrons that kill me instantly. I really don't want to cheat but I have to because there's hardly any health powerups! Also, this whole level is one giant, annoying switch hunt, which I don't like but the rest of the levels leading up to it were spot on. -

How do I get to this red key, it's so irritating. I've looked all oer th place to get to it, and there's not a hint anywhere! Seriously, a few clues on how to get to the keys would be nice. I've spent 50 minutes now on this map and I'm kinda sick of it now. -

I forgot to mention, I was aiming for a mid-level map so it's good that you thought that the amount of monsters was good for it. Also, I made a demo of the map, it shows how I play it and where the secrets are (if you couldn't find them). Also, I recommend not playing in ZDoom, there's a huge HOM in the invisible walls... -

You're telling me, I'm 32 minutes in and I'm just starting to find out how to reach the red skull key. Also, I'm on about 5% health because of the revenants (I have trouble dodging their fireballs). -

That's odd. It lowers every time on mine. What source port are you using? I forgot to mention that it's in Boom format if that makes any difference. -

I thought the lift was pretty obvius with all the stuff up there. Also, the red key switch? It's pretty obvious, the first switch is a door that I used to check you had the red key, then behind it is another switch which lowers the bars in front of the teleporter and the walkway above. -

Alright, my map is finished for the most part. I've playtested it so I know it's possible, I just need a second (maybe third ;D) opinion on it. I recommend not playing it in Skulltag, it provides a not-so-nice effect with the see-through walls. The music is changed to a piece I liked from Reverie just because Doom II's D_RUNNIN does NOT suit this map at all. Another note, I've put in a graphic for the intermission map title, it's not really necessary much but it didn't take long so what the hell. One last screenshot: The only thing left, is to change some monsters depending on the difficulty, but I'm done for today, spend more than enough hours on it already. At the moment it's annoying me because my computer has decided to slow down on me right now and the amount here is about as much as it can cope with (and the projectiles).
