working with cupcaketactics has been fun so far, I love his wacky detailing style and his interconnected layouts are a challenge to work with (in a good way). I'm very confident that between me him and scifista we'll have a great map :) the only issue is that I can be a very slow mapper sometimes so I worry that I don't output enough, or I take too long to implement something. it's a learning experience

cool to hear about all the progress being made. I'm waiting until a good amount are ready to test then I'll stream gameplay of them on twitch (thanks to 40oz for letting me know that was ok) and post my full thoughts/vods afterwards. also 40oz I'm definitely interested in helping out with one map if you want to throw me on something :)

**edit** my apologies, when I was writing this I forgot that maps were a group effort ... didn't mean to exclude you in this Breezeep. both of you did an excellent job as far as I can tell (still haven't beaten it though :P ) hey AD, working on testing your map. still haven't beaten it yet because I was trying to get a demo recorded and I apparently suck at FDA's w/ no saves, so I'll jump back in again later today and beat it the nerd way :) I'd say difficulty is fine for a wad of this style, tough as nails but still fair. makes replaying fun. as I said I didn't finish so I'll test more later and have more detailed feedback for you :)

prboom with the fancy advanced hud thingy that almost feels like cheating to use

needed work in the gameplay department -- lots of annoying jumping sections and bad enemy placement. however, this wad exhibits amazing atmosphere and visuals that still look good even today. in fact I didn't believe that this was released in 2003 until I looked at the upload date; it felt like something somebody would have made today. 3/5 would have been an easy 5/5 if the gameplay wasn't so bad.

well that pic is from chocolate doom, so some garbage pixelation from the distance is unavoidable. It would probably look much better on something like zdoom but I personally love the pixelated style :P it reminds me of starfox and the superfx chip @TheCupboard: it's funny you say that because it uses the same palette as doom 2 haha

trying to go for a snes look, I may or may not keep going with this.

Prototype -- 4 level E4 replacement for Boom! (-complevel 9) Now on idgames!
molten_ posted a topic in WAD Releases & Development
Episode 4 is my favorite episode of Ultimate Doom, so I decided to start making my own mapset for it. I originally planned to make all 9 maps but unfortunately work got in the way and it looks like I won't have much free time for quite a while, so I'm going to call this finished before I run out of steam. Download (v2) Download (v2) Who knows, I may return to this someday. -

thanks for playing! yea I imagine e4m3 will give people the most trouble. I'm a huge fan of platforming in doom (yes really) and e4m2 from ultimate doom is my favorite level ever, so that map was kinda a throwback to that style.
