love those skies :) I don't think I'd have the time to focus on a pair-up, but if anybody wants a third person to help flesh their map out further, feel free to let me know and I'd be happy to jump in and provide feedback, design some areas, or add detailing (in addition to testing everybody else's maps)

I don't know yet if I would be open to map, but I would definitely be interested in playtesting if a spot is still available :)

this is absolutely insane and I love it. I'd honestly be okay with an entire wad with this style of mapping. never really seen anything like it before.

I really hate the color scheme everything else looks ok

I feel like, even if an objectively better editor were to be released I'd still use Doom Builder because I'm so used to how it works

Ok, new version has been uploaded. Fixes: -Improved the secret in e4m3 so that it's (hopefully) impossible to get stuck -Added a missing graphic lump for the intermission screen I'm gonna let this sit a week in case any major bugs are found then upload to idgames. Cheers! -

I'll finish catching up tomorrow, but for now I played up until E1M4 E1M3 I liked this map a lot, at first it felt a bit too open and safe but then I remembered that I was effectively on a time limit at the mercy of the rad suit. The rest of the map was handled well, the enemy placement was decent and all the traps didn't feel cheap. I liked how the heavy amount of damaging floor in the beginning effectively locked you out of the starting area until you managed to find another rad suit. Overall, good fun. The secret exit area was pretty creative too :) E1M9 This map was fun ... but it was a bit too straightforward. The big open central area was entertaining to fight through simply because I love any chance a map author gives me to blast cacodemons with rockets ;) but it was also far too easy to avoid fights and camp in. This could have been remedied by perhaps adding tighter choke points, but I think it's just a symptom of the main area being far too large. The outer areas were good fun though, and I really liked how the way you get the key isn't apparently obvious until you've flipped a few switches and dealed with a few monster closets. The trap after opening all the doors was just silly though, I sticked around just because I wanted to blast some more enemies but it would have been trivial to skip. Decent map that could have been better imo E1M4 This is probably my favorite map thus far, really like the visual style and the gameplay was really fun and intense. A definite step up in difficulty from the previous maps, but still not too hard. I played a bit more recklessly than I should have so I took a ton of stupid damage, but in the end I pulled through with 100 percent health. At this point I have given into the fact that shotgunners on unreachable ledges will be a thing, so that doesn't bother me as much any more. Nice use of enemies and lots of variety in the encounters and visual design. Excellent map. One thing I have to praise about the mapset (so far anyway) is that canonball's traps are very well done. Varied, non-cheap and always a surprise. All too often mappers seem to get stuck on making traps the exact same way every time, so it's nice to see a healthy mix of styles here. -

Oh man, I can't believe I missed that issue in E4M3. I'll try to get that fixed shortly. Anyway thanks for the demos scifista, they're always fun to watch and useful for improving :) I'm glad you enjoyed the maps. -

I really only have free time during the weekends so I'll probably post my thoughts in bursts (Typically sunday afternoon) E1M1 Simple starting map, not a huge fan of the ending for two reasons; 1.) Shotgunners on unreachable ledges bother me (I want that ammo!) and 2.) The damaging floor practically forces the player to camp outside the doorway, discouraging fast play. Other than that though it was pretty straightforward, liked the aesthetic. E1M2 Woo, that was really fun. I liked the obvious secret at the beginning that made the wide open area much easier. I think that there are a lot of choke points (Especially in the aforementioned secret area, with the window looking out to the wide area) but I feel like they were still entertaining thanks to the abundance of hitscanners dispersed throughout. The later areas filled with monster closets and traps was really good, not many choke points so I found myself on my toes constantly. Major jump in difficulty but that's ok to me, was just right. Great map. Looking at the starting point for E1M3, lots of nukeage. Hrm -
Played it a bit, died a lot. Tons of fun. I'll try to see if I can get a complete demo sometime :D

[Cacoward approved] InstaDoom: screw #nofilter - final WOTY edition released

Saw this on Reddit, promptly wondered why I was browsing Reddit. I'm even more confused as to how I managed to not see this beforehand, I frequent this site way more. Nevertheless, awesome work. I hope it becomes a staple for wad authors to put selfie images in their topics (I'm half joking) -
Thanks for the demo scifista. Glad you liked what you played of it. I had a good laugh watching you inch your way into the dark building :D That crash is strange. I'll look into it, does anybody know what that error specifically means? I also think I'm going to make that computer map secret harder to camp in somehow... it was kinda a last-minute change. Wanted to add something to those upper windows. Might remove it entirely even
