  1. All goofiness side, I got this game on Steam from a friend as a gift and just as I was gonna dive in, I found out I could not change the movement controls to arrows from WASD. I mean, really...not everyone uses WASD as movement!

    I am disappoint, Avalanche Studios.

What's with the assumption that no WASD = arrows? I use ESDF because I get access to more keys. I find it annoying when there's no way to change weapon key bindings.

I use ESDF as well. Mostly because you can reach more keys, partly because WASD is so mainstream.

I can live with WASD. What bugs me more is when a game has an absurdly long list of controls that I have to memorize before I can start playing. I once read an article where someone, as a thought experiment, figured out how a modern shooter (I forget which one) could theoretically be played with a one-button Atari joystick. It is possible to simplify things.

Got a link? Sounds like a good read.

Sorry, I spent some time looking and couldn't track it down.
