Hey, is there a way to hotkey the pump-action shottie to a key other than 3? The double-barrel gets in the way, I'd just like to hotkey the pump-action to the letter 'C'.

Yeah this guy kicks ass. Didn't realize the soundtrack for the PSX Doom games and Doom 64 all belonged to the same bloke. Really appreciated the sound in those games, I still knock up Doom PSX on my PSP actually lol.

wow, ZDoom wars sounds epic this thread is the best thing ever, must be so many epic mods out there outside of Cacowards

What is that screenshot from? Looks like Afterburner on drugs.

It's really fun but I have never completed the game in Nightmare. I love the mode, I always assumed it was impossible but watching that was really sweet.

Which maps in the original Doom games do you consider to be filler/padding?
SweatyGremlins replied to hardcore_gamer's topic in Doom General
That's true, but Plutonia and TNT felt original or exciting (like some of the cacoward and other projects) for some reason, Doom 2 just felt like new shotgun + random levels. The exception is NRFTL, I really like that episode. Oh and it's only a subjective view, no reason for setting knickers on fire! -

I'm gonna get shot here but... I thought Doom 2 was filler :O I much prefer Plutonia, TNT and Doom64 as new content, Doom 2 felt like a cash-in expansion. E1M1 forever! And yeah why not collect all the best of official maps? But how do you sort that out, polls? Competitions! -
Town of AQUAFORT! Will there be a town of LavaFort? Please? I really liked it, felt like there was a lot more than one level ahead. The map design is really fun, it looks like it branches off in 3 directions, but they are all connected and you can end up winding around and getting lost\disorientated. Which is good, otherwise maps can get a bit boring if they are too straightforward. I didn't notice the offending textures, I saw a very colorful portal and then the level ended :( From a non Heretic-er perspective it looked very nice anyway, communities can become a little insular and fuss over small things so go with your gut I think cause the map seemed very clean and polished. It wasn't hard, but it wasn't mindless either, it is meant to be the first level of an episode though so it shouldn't be balls hard up the ass anyway. Thumbs up for the combat areas though, I never got stuck on protruding geometry which happens all the time in modern shooters, and sometimes in Doom maps that are detail heavy\cramped. EDIT\ bahaha KUKUKUKU that was great, who would have thought that music would suit Doom, so relaxio.

Yeah I got the impression it's better to do things properly from the ground up with Doom. After exams I'll go through some of the Tutorials out there, there's a lot of support for ZDoom modding thankfully :) -
zombi's Doom Collection - Updated: 2/23/13 (Graded Final Doom Added!)
SweatyGremlins replied to zombi's topic in Doom General
That's really nice, I love the back of the box. Feels like more of a sequel than Doom 2 but... DooM64! Now let's play the other 63, sixty-three Dooms so fun fun -

I say leave it, it looks cool. Reminds me of the random setups you see in things like Transformers or G.I. Joe. Not meant to be realistic, just look cool and complicated! -

So the soldiers can jump on facebook straight after they land! I changed the shotgun from Purple\Cyan to Black\Cyan, looks more occult now. This little TC will actually take a lot of work, never modded or made maps... or music for Doom before :O Map design with all those lines will be tricky, everything has to align properly. I think I will finally be able to give epilepsy to the Doom community though! Disco! Disco! Disco! -
The Authority has plenty of tech underground though. The story in Doom 1 & 2 is pretty light so it's possible there; but Doom 3 gives the impression everything is normal back on Earth: people are still 'marines' for example. Although, wait why would a marine work as security personnel on a private facility? Maybe Sarge is just some nutter.

very koool will it work on SNES? or Genesis! :)

Trying to learn how to make stuff for Doom, here's before an after pics! http://img696.imageshack.us/img696/2382/screenshotdoom201211011.png http://img23.imageshack.us/img23/2382/screenshotdoom201211011.png I'm relying on the Doom 2 IWAD right now though, gonna have to find some tutorials on making PWADS. It's fun making simple texture replacements though, good way to relax from all the assignments I been doing. -
You know that Greenlight thing on Steam? I noticed some F2P games turn up on it. Do you think some of the independent games that don't rely on id's IWADS could turn up on it? Stuff like FreeDoom and Chibi Rebellion which I found just today (ITS SWEEEET) Might get Doom more attention, or maybe bad attention?

Nice review, the controls are the biggest issue for PS3. I'm not sure what the reason is for the current trend of "trololol u want remap? trooooool!" of console games, but the sprint button sucks since its not a toggle, impossible to strafe+sprint or be agile. There's also no mode that turns all the monsters into nude women so I am slightly upset, but the rest is grand.
-
You can put free games up on Greenlight, they could stick Freedoom up there and get attention for future contributors.
-
It's not a big deal I know, but it does hurt the game and kind of turns the readers into mushy turd brain fart touchers, like IGN etc. This guy is the only reviewer I respect http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cvdUmDIIL0A I'm with Mystery Man in 4D, I wanted these on PS3! I got em all on PC but there's something cool about PS3. And if you remember or lived through the history of PC to Console ports (remember SNES Doom? yuckkk) you can really appreciate the quality of the transition. Runs so good, Doom 3 and RAGE are the best current-gen shooters on console, they put performance as a priority instead of gimmicky SSAO crap that runs the framerate down the mung hole.
