    Currently a debate going on at the ZDoom forums about whether supporting ZIPs as an alternate archive format to WAD would be worthwhile in ZDoom. If you miss deep's endless rants about why he thinks he's right about everything Doom, perhaps you should check out the thread and have a laugh :)

      He's been going by the name randomlag on the ZDoom forums for quite some time now.

      What an odd concept... I personally have no problems with the current system, though. Geez, I never noticed how disturbing Enjay's pic is before. And finally... insertwackydeepbashinghere.

      UPDATE: I've taken deep's stubborn "ZIPs will complicate things" and all related replies head on and have uploaded some source code showing that if implemented correctly can make things much easier source-side, and of course the fact that ZIP is a standard format will make Doom editing much more accessible to newbies who shriek at the thought of WAD management.
