    About mapping. Not everyone has a talent for mapping. Sometimes, providing feedback and recording demos even the better form for contributing. Mappers will be very grateful to you.

    Ultimate Doom: By The Map - Which IWAD?

    Maybe use Ultimate Doom iwad and pwad with extra textures which are variations of Doom1 textures/flats. It may dilute the lack of resources.

  8. I do not want to seem picky, but in OP there are too many text in paragraphs, it is difficult to read and this will push away participants. Important text will not take so much space, you can look at other big projects and see their OP. Maybe reduce extra chatter in the OP? It is best to indicate what is accepted and what is not accepted point by point. If this is not the case, many questions and contradictions will emerge later.
  9. Not only slaughter-maps. As example in my maps I've put in ambush closet 3 revenants and 1 arch-vile behind them. Also there are some crates/pillars in area for use it as cover.

    Sometimes restricted format motivates map authors to look for other ways to intrigue players.
  13. Just one more correction. The Tower of Babel is built as you progress through the second episode. P.S. Also the episode overviews should be in OP.
  14. In my first maps, I also forgot to put better weapons/ammo for meatier eneimies, and this made the maps too grindy. Especially in Ultimate Doom, the more important is monster placement, since there are not so many of them and in this case you need to rely on other methods rather than "just put more mid-tiers and bunch of ammo".

    How to Deal with Mapping Sadness

    I, in my turn, do not worry about my mapping, and in particular I don’t care that some people don’t like my maps. But I would like to create for example new texture set from the scratch. When I have the necessary resources to create, the mapping goes much better.

    Eternal Doom 3: Automap is your best friend.

The number of maps is more than 60 currently (including speedmaps, community project maps and heretic maps) Plus 17 maps which hopefully comes this year in my new mapset. Moreover there are 18 "lost level" maps which I converted and adopted for PSX Doom Master Edition project to make them work on actual hardware. So it counts as edited maps.
