  1. In my I.T. class we are moving on to building a computer for an assessment and me and my group chose these parts for our group, we also had a budget of $800

    HD: Seagate Barracuda 500GB
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z77M-D3H Intel Mainboard - LGA 1155
    RAM: Corsair 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 1600MHz CL9 Vengeance (CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9B)
    Case: Cooler Master Elite 335
    PSU: Thermaltake Litepower 700W
Graphics Card: XFX nVidia GT520 2GB
Case Fan: Enermax T.B Silence - Blue 120mm
    CPU: Intel CPU Core i7-2600 - LGA 1155 3.40Ghz

so would these components make a pretty decent computer for about $800 ?

It's just such a low end part in comparison to everything else you've chosen. It's barely better than Sandy Bridge's HD3000 IGP.
