Dropbox used to be such a good file hosting site, but I hate it now.

When you're having too much fun playtesting a boss instead of working on the last part of the map...
-
That post limit lasts for 24 hours after you register. It expired about a half hour ago, so you should be able to post as much as you want now.

Pays $1,000 for something, expecting to get the money back sometime soon therafter, in a few weeks tops...
Completely forgets about it...
Gets it back over 2 years later...
Better late than never, I guess.

Flips through the TV channels...
Finds nothing decent...
Goes through the high numbered, never watched channels...
Comes across chess boxing...
Umm...yeah.

That feeling when you're having too much fun testing your project over the weekend to get much done with it.

Well, hello there Mr. Norovirus. So good of you to come. It's been such a long time since your last visit.

I just found out the hard way that SilverKey has been taken by Strife, so I had to rename it SilverKey1. The fun part is that for a brief time (before I fixed it), even when I had the silver key, I couldn't open any silver key doors.

Last experiment failed. Reducing the damage and ammo use by half, but keeping the same speed didn't work very well. It ended up taking twice as long to kill an enemy than before, and that can be a major problem in rough battles.
So let's try something different. Increase damage and ammo use for the other fire mode by 50%, but and keep the speed the same. This one is working out much better.

Updating GZDoom Builder was a lot harder than it needed to be, but I finally managed to get it working again.

Tried an experiment. Didn't go well, but I kind of expected how it would turn out. I just wanted to try it.
Anyway, imagine if you had a projectile weapon that uses 2 of something. Now, imagine that same weapon doing half the damage, but only using 1 of the something instead of 2. But with the same fire rate. How would you like that? Me? I didn't, especially in faster paced maps where you want something dead sooner, so I changed it back to the way it way it was.

That moment when you discover a bug that went unnoticed for a very long time because the RNG associated with the script never selected that specific scenario after countless playtests.
And it all came down to a '6' instead of '26' causing a specific texture to not update when needed.

That moment when you save after beating a rough area after repeated tries, only for a lone enemy that you missed to kill you a split second later.

Something similar, clearing an entire open area after an hour of abundant crossfire, repeated tries, only to flip a switch that releases some archviles that start to undo your job, mostly reviving the worst monsters (revenants). Even worse, beating those archviles, feeling relieved and just when you thought "ok what's next" you're suddenly being covered in fire by one last archie that never showed earlier, and you see the available cover so freaking far away from you... Bonus, that archie reviving more revenants...

That awkward feeling when you start playing Doom again after playing a similar game with different controls for an extended period of time.

I had a pizza today.
It was delicious.
I ate the whole thing.
It had ham and bacon and pineapple.

> smacks roach
> roach isn't quite dead
> picks up roach
> throws roach into a rather large spider web
> watches spider go to town

It's nice when a nifty weapon works flawlessly.
Not so much when the two previous nights are spent looking for the cause of the game freeze by what turns out to be a bad jump buried deep in a portion of decorate you completely forgot about.
