Full list of Doom clones/similar games?

I once played a demo version of "The Fortress of Dr. Radiaki". Pretty obscure, I think. Maybe because it sucked... But I still remember the intro with a dramatic voice reading some newspapers about something.

I Wanna Marry Windows 10 Now

@Enderkevin13 Why do you want it to die? There's some good information here now. By the way, thanks to this thread, I found that Microsoft has been pushing "custumer experience and diagnostic telemetry" updates into Windows 7 and 8 too. Valve and Linux

Actually, I agree with you in these points. I think the famous Andrew S. Tanenbaum quote (The nice thing about standards is that you have so many to choose from.) pretty much sums up what Linux is right now. Sometimes it seems every programmer wants to write their own library for every "Hello world" program they develop. However, as others have stated, if a big enough company (popular, mainstream, because for instance the giant Red Hat invests in Linux but no one outside the tech world knows about it) starts to invest in it, who knows? "A standard to end all standards"? Won't developers see the gold pot at the end of the rainbow?

    Valve and Linux

You've all probably read somewhere that Valve seems to be pushing their technology towards Linux. Looks like it's really gonna happen. So what do you guys think? Could this be the push Linux needs to become just a little more popular among the "average" computer user/gamer? PS. I found that Valve has hired non other than Darkplaces' LordHavoc to work for them. Source: http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=news_item&px=MTExMDM.

    So you think you're fast?

It's a bit better at my parents' place, because, well, they make more money than I do...

Things about Doom you just found out

Just found out why Doom was ported to linux:

I know what you mean, it was just a baby! He didn't know better... Resurrection was pretty good I think. I am really looking forward for this.

    Map names I don't realize

Well, Mount Erebus is a volcano, actually: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_Erebus

    Windows 8's interface

I honestly can't see myself using this... Microsoft has put up a video here (silverlight required). Nobody seems to work anymore, 'cause the video only shows the "cool" people doing "cool" stuff with their "cool" friends over the internet. BUT, there is a small part near the end that shows what seems like the usual Win7 taskbar. So maybe not all is lost.
  12. reboot

Well would ya lookie what I found...

Didn't want to start a new thread, but Eurogamer is saying that some Doom4 concept art was leaked here. They don't look much like Doom, if you ask me...

    Post your ride (vehicle thread)

Manly man's daily driver: http://imgur.com/a/gogP7 It has a 1.8 liter, four cylinder engine, manual transmission, about 95 horsepower, runs on gasoline and natural gas. Hydraulic steering is the only "bonus" thing in it. It was known in the US as "Fox wagon". As you can see in the third picture I have started to restore it but ran low on cash... :P

    Retro Blazer (indie FPS)

Just played it for a few minutes and I loved it! Really gave me that Wolf3D/Corridor7 feel. A few personal opinions: I like that there isn't mouselook. And I think that jumping is also unnecessary. The levels are indeed a bit repetitive, but I don't really mind; like I said, it gave me a genuine old school feel. So, to Amil and the rest of the team: keep up the good work!
