While I'm not entirely sure about the whole 'shitstorm about Uganda' situation, the thing we need to remember is that we're all apart of a community and that even though we have similar interests, we're all humans. What do humans do? Make mistakes, we fuck up, say shit that's out of line, and hurt the people we like and care about whether we mean to or not. The point I wanna make is that nobody is perfect, no matter how hard we try to do the right thing, (or what we consider the right thing), it doesn't get across to other people the same way as we may intend but that doesn't mean we should shame people, or burn them at the stake for simple mistakes. If there is one thing that makes a community stronger, and strengthens bonds between people, is accountability and honesty. I think sometimes we forget the reason we come to this forum, to express our interest in the same game that all brought us here. We should celebrate the fact that we are all different, yet we have the same love for the same game. Sorry if this is really preachy, unrelated, or whatever, but I get a bad feeling whenever community drama starts to heat up or people have open conflicts throughout the forum, and hope we can all keep the peace.

  4. Having only been in the Doom community for about 4 or 5 years and playing through most of the classic megawads and mapsets. I would like to know what people thought of these mapsets on release? For example, was Memento Mori 1 and 2 considered incredible for its time? WADs like Alien Vendetta, Eternal Doom, and etc. are also some that I would like some perspective on. Note: I have played through all of these, and know their impact on the map making community, but I'm just wanting to know from the 'OG' doomers what the initial impact of these WADs were..
  5. Some edits I made since my previous post: A bad sign of things to come.. Working on some more advanced lighting. Added an outside outside area to the starting (?) room. Sorry posting so many shots in a frequent amount of time. I get a lot of ideas and would love feedback! Anything to improve, especially from advanced mappers. Also, is it a bad thing to get inspiration from my favorite WADs? Or is that considered plagiarizing? I'm not necessarily talking about straight up ripping off map layouts, but rather architectural styles and monster placement.

  10. Let's see... 1. Pass my first year of college. Currently on my 2nd semester of freshman year, but surviving my first official year would be great for my confidence. 2. Be happier. The past few weeks of my life have been plagued with depression and anxiety, (probably from just not being home in a while), and I'm tired of being so negative. But for Doom? 1. Release a WAD that I'm actually satisfied with. When I was 13 (back in 2012ish) I would just release half-finished and or short WADs that, when looking back, I have no idea why I released them in the first place lol. Maybe every mapper feels like this? 2. Plutonia. UV -fast. Let's get it. 3. Maybe hop on a mapset project with the community some day? Once I get a better feel for mapping, and feel confident in myself. 4. Get way way way more involved with people in the community! I first made this account in 2012 when I was younger, and always wanted to become a welcome member of this website but never knew how to stay in touch with people well. Obviously, I'm much older now (18) and this really shouldn't be an issue. Anytime somebody wants to chat about Doom or their wads in progress and etc. Hit me up! I'm very open to responding to people even over stuff that is trivial or major. 5. Reach 1000 posts on doomworld lel.

  13. Some shots from a map I've been sketching, not put monsters or much detail yet, just trying to get familiar with map editors and stringing together decent looking/flowing rooms together. (Ignore the voodoo dolls).
  14. What settings do you have to apply in order for ENDOOM to appear? I never see it anymore on my GZDoom client whenever I exit the game.

Some sources say that it will be at 60fps on the newer generation consoles, but 30fps on the Switch. The remaster is also including the 'Artorias Of The Abyss' expansion as well!
