Impie said:And what are you asking for it?
I certainly wouldn't lowball the seller for such a gem.
Buckshot said:It's worth whatever someone wants to pay to have it... V1.2 and lower versions of USA sealed DOOM mail order, in mint or excellent condition are what everyone wants to nab, and I would say don't expect to pay any less than $1000 for one of those.
Well said! I'm ready to dish out some serious cash to finally land one of these. Is there ANY way to determine which version is inside? I'm considering weighing the various versions. -

I just checked out that thread, and I have to say, he is pretty cool.
Hopefully, this forum appreciates GreyGhost! -
GreyGhost, you are definitely a cool guy. You are always willing to help with people's questions, and now this. Cheers!

Thanks for the input, guys!
Has anyone come across a sealed copy of the registered version of Doom? That would be one way to check, by rattling the box around (not that one would want to do so). -
I actually yelled when I didn't win this auction, but then I realized that I'm not even sure if the discs came like this in the registered version of Doom:

Were the discs sealed like this in the registered version of Doom? Thanks in advance for any input! -

Archy said:Can't you just compare the content on the two disks?
I can't, unfortunately, as both boxes are sealed. I do think, however, that the two game disks and box contents are the same (both are the U.S. release). Just the front cover is different, leading me to believe that the glossy copy is some sort of re-release.

I'll give that forum a try...
Thanks for all of the responses so far! -
Aliotroph? said:Since when does the difference between NTSC and PAL apply to games that run on Windows?
It doesn't. This was a mistake on my part.

Well sir, I do appreciate you taking the time.
I'm just trying to see if the glossy version is special for any reason. -
I own two U.S. versions of System Shock 2, and they feature different front covers. Can anyone supply any additional information on these two box variations? GreyGhost & zombi, I'm looking at you!

Thanks! Being a fellow collector of sealed Doom games, I knew you'd appreciate it.
As a side note, the copy of Mario Paint that was referenced earlier in this thread came back from VGA with a grade of 80.
Once I have additional graded Doom games, I'll be sure to share. It may be a while, as I have a few games that are next in line to be graded (like GoldenEye 007 & System Shock 2).
Lastly, your graded copy of Final Doom looks amazing!
Sealed Doom mail order etc. What is it worth?

It's a shame that the seller vanished. I'm not looking to spend THAT much, but I also understand that I'm not likely to find one for a few hundred dollars.
