What are the most frustrating Doom levels?
CorSair replied to hardcore_gamer's topic in Doom General
I really don't have any that can make your hair turn gray too soon. Hmm... Maybe the Central Processing (level 20) in Evilution puts bit pressure, due to goddamn long halls and passages. -

Freespace 2 has probably very memorable music. Every song. They fit like a fist in the eye. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PNk8c2qgTWk http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=53ctBp21FQ0 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JyOfpa-COYc -
If a politician pats on your back, beware! He's just trying to find soft spot to stick a knife in your back.

What do you think are the best Final Doom levels?
CorSair replied to hardcore_gamer's topic in Doom General
From Plutonia (what hits instantly in mind): Hunted: When I first played this, adrenaline run through my veins, waiting arch-vile to pop up. Still gives me shivers when I play through it. Wish there would be more like these... Odyssey of Noises: I don't know what it is that gives good feel when I play through this. Not the most detailed, or beautiful of the deck, but still... The final secret level, which I don't remember: What a bitch level. Yet, I am probably insane, but I want to play it through every time I start playing Plutonia again. :) There are lot of other levels, but overall, these are most memorable ones. And from Evilution... Maybe it's better to cut out the bad ones. The endgame levels left me empty when I was done with Administration Center. Wormhole is cool idea, but doesn't play well. But the most interesting ones for me are: Mill, Shipping/Respawn, Deepest Reaches, Nukage Process. Those maps have quite fond memories for me. .:edit:. Holy smoly... I always thought that I always did something wrong, thus I had to cheat the level through. O__o -
This was quite nice presentation of how small we really are, and the opportunities in the universe. :) I highly doubt that we can really traverse in space, between the systems or even galaxies, not even in millenium, if this current rate keeps going. Would be milestone, if human lands to Mars in this century, if I dare to say so.

Fear and uncertainty, the best tools to lead fools. Plain and simple. -

Five Rooms of Doom: (32/32) - now on idgames
CorSair replied to Keeper of Jericho's topic in WAD Releases & Development
Allright, I got the two rooms done, first being sort of hub area and second is exit. Aside for new details, there's not much of special changes to my previous shots. Now focusing for other areas. -
Few of my favorite maps. If someone doesn't like none of these, I don't meet them. :P http://www.doomworld.com/idgames/index.php?id=15919 http://www.doomworld.com/idgames/index.php?id=12597 http://www.doomworld.com/idgames/index.php?id=15238 http://www.doomworld.com/idgames/index.php?id=11790 http://www.doomworld.com/idgames/index.php?id=15950 http://www.doomworld.com/idgames/index.php?id=11412

Hey, have you heard of Wim Hof? For quick reference, he can adjust to extreme coldness just only by power of will. I think that's already achieved. :P Anyway, if there are some experiments for enhancing or rejuvenating your hearing to one or both to your ears, well I'm all ears for that kind of opportunity. Although you can dismiss some shitjobs by only saying "But I'm half deaf! It's on the records even." :D -
I got a Doom folder in C:, put all my sourceports on their own folders, IWADs, PWADs, mods and other shit in their own respective folders, and being lazy fuck, I use ZDL to do the rest. End of my story.

Five Rooms of Doom: (32/32) - now on idgames
CorSair replied to Keeper of Jericho's topic in WAD Releases & Development
Started doing my map this morn, and here's my progress so far (room 1): https://www.dropbox.com/s/c5xya3fiub687ua/map25-shot1.png https://www.dropbox.com/s/l4r79bqhdnppg44/map25-shot2.png https://www.dropbox.com/s/xqjgsl04dqprlu6/map25-shot3.png Map's name is "Infinity Nexus." That is, if I can't find better name, though. The room itself is sort of hub, connecting to all parts of maps. Still feels very blank and uninteresting, and a tad bit of too dark, in my opinion. But if you got comments, bring it on... -

I really don't have any proper experience for mapping, but still trying learn my ropes on this business. Anyway, if you will, I could partake into this little project, taking map25 slot. :) -
