Battle mode looks fun, but not adding a traditional mode is like a glass half empty. I saw nothing wrong with the previous Doom.

What Video Game Are You Currently Playing?
Lygophilia replied to Neurosis's topic in Everything Else
Yes. I liked the series, but anything after sprite based fighters, I did not like. Sources said it was coming this winter on the Switch, but I don't know if I should take a gamble on it. -

I was playing King Of Fighters, until my faulty arcade stick for the Nintendo Switch wasn't detecting anymore. Weaponlord and Tmnt tournaments for PC is having problems detecting this arcade stick. I can't really afford to raise the price to give away 200 dollars for a last long arcade stick anymore. Also, new generation fighters for me is false hope to like and there's no tomorrow for old school fighters, so I might as well permanently call it quits. Everything is just dumb down for new comers from this genre, because people don't want to put in the work for a more unforgiving learning curve and execution barrier. Going to another genre is best. -
Favourite fighting game character per series
Lygophilia replied to [McD] James's topic in Everything Else
That's pretty N/A for me. I just grew to like everyone over time in the last 25 years. I can't really be interested in a fighting game without using randomselect. -
Being an alcoholic is more difficult than I thought. I can't say that it was a solution to hard times, but numbed my troubles. The substance abuse program doesn't guarantee a lifetime of sobriety, but it wasn't without merit.

I've never got around finishing Doom 3, but I would like to.

Have you ever changed as a gamer as years went on?
Lygophilia replied to Salahmander2's topic in Everything Else
What changed is that I miss the feeling of excitement for games as a child, instead of feeling skeptical about buying them. -
I'm part of the LGBTQ. I need to move to a more tolerate part for the city of New Orleans, like near Canal St. The people around me always gave me a hard time from their religious views in my apartment. What lies ahead with transitioning is going to be worse, but overall, "be you" is what I live by.

I played a few many years ago, but I there is the collection, I can play many more.

My username means love of darkness, which I also have a preference for dark personalities, places and the night. It was an influence on how others perceive me.

Very, VERY worried about the final product.
Lygophilia replied to crazyflyingdonut's topic in Doom Eternal
This one seems to have exceptional depth in comparison to what is normally seen in FPS, so I find that with merit. -
I didn't like the 2.5D era in fighting games and lack of good range of known 3D fighters. For one of these reasons, it was a hard decision to drop the genre. In 1990s, the genre had so much variety to choose from, which those games will never be re-released or have sequels. Other than that, it's rare to find any modern games I like. I usually go for old school games that I haven't played before or old school inspired. Besides modern Doom, Daemon x Machina and Dark Souls are the only ones I like.

"Fighting games are still in stagnation today. The genre was only worth the investment in the 1990s." Unfortunately, I've learned the hard way dropping chess in exchange. Fighting games require you to either have a strong scene or you need to travel to forward your experience. I was at my limit with online multiplayer years ago. I think I could have reached grandmaster in chess if I didn't give up on finding competition. Fortunately, with the resources today, I could reach my prime or more.

1980s fighting games wasn't all that bad.
