    The Lost Little Ogre

Kamila and I were playing Quake the other night on Nightmare in Episode 1, Map 4 The Grizzly Grotto and we've always wondered why on the skills 'Hard" and up, you can only get 58 of the 59 monsters. Kamila refers to this is the lost ogre bug, with women being more motherly and all, she's nice to the gross beast. I call it the COWARD ogre bug. Anyway, differences aside. We decided to fly around in no clip mode and indeed, there is a lone ogre in a spawn box who never comes out. We alerted him and went back into the world to see where he would pop up but, he just stayed in his box going bonkers. Anyone else notice this or been bugged by it? Food for thought, anyway. A Message From Abiageal O'Meara

Haha, in that case I'm glad we didn't listen to the guy who suggested we make them slower =P I'm not sure if you've heard the UAC Overture yet, it's a Projekt Xero level song that's quite up beat. My point being that yes, she mainly does slower stuff but, if you give her a push, she can do fast stuff. The main reason behind the slow music you heard is because we thought fast stuff would take away from the creepiness that is (or we're trying) to make our levels. In fact, you can hear the UAC overture in this video - link - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1psds1vJP9s All in all, thanks for posting!

    A Message From Abiageal O'Meara

Dear DOOM Community, With work winding down on the Dimensions soundtrack, I’ve decided to expand my contribution to the community of DOOM and Id Tech 1 based games outside of the Little Temple Group. I feel confident enough to work on other games such as Heretic, Hexen, & Strife as well as working with people on their DOOM projects. For those of you whom have heard tracks I’ve done for both Dimensions and Projekt Xero and liked it, I thank you. Anyone who wishes to contact me and wants some tracks done, you can do so by sending an email to abbey0237 @ gmail.com and I will do my best to respond in a timely manner. The following is a bit of information on my setup just for those who like all the technical details and so I wont find myself in any spots of trouble down the road. System – Apple Macintosh Mini OS X 10.5.8 Software – Logic Pro 9 Audacity Hardware – Roland Juno-Gi Mobile Synthesizer It should be noted that, I have never done strict MIDI tracks before so, should someone request those, I will give it a go however, achieving the sound you may like in my current tracks may present problems as I would have to redo all my presets. If you would be looking for the sound used in Dimensions & Projekt Xero, it is best if I do such tracks in a “live instrument” setting and by that I mean having it encoded in “MP3, Wav, Flac, Ogg, AIFF, AAC” and so forth. Thank you to those who gave feedback on my work thus far. Abiageal “Abbey” O’Meara

    DOOM II - Dimensions

We've decided to go ahead and release MAP 04 (not map05, my bad) after all and just wait to upload the rest of episode one after, so everyone doesn't have to keep playing map 01 2 and 3 over and over again. It should be noted that the MAPINFO and RSKY textures are now in the DMUS.wad. The reason for this is because it's easier for us to update the map wads without corrupting MAP01 by re adding map info every time we update the levels and merging makes a mess of things in the long run. Has modern comfort destroyed human discipline?

I agree. I could name a bunch of things that seem "messed up" about today's world compared to even ten years ago. Stuff is going down FAST. Nobody has any respect, no morals (Most don't, anyway). It seems like everyone is lost in a way, everyone's all mixed up. In simpler times, everyone knew what to do with life and their were rules. Pretty soon, I feel that people will just do whatever. Include badmouth complete strangers. I could go on, but, I don't want to create controversy so, I'll leave it at that. =P My 10 year old cousin is 10x more mature than my ex girl friend was. I rest my case, haha. Than again, her parents also believe in raising your kids. My ex's parents just didn't give a flying fuzzball.

    DOOM II - Dimensions

We just wanted to say thanks for the demo! Kamila and Valentine got the most out of it as they designed level 3, we're waiting for Elizavetta to see it as she helped with the design of level 2. It seems you pause and think about how to get around obstacles and that's great because Kamila said that's the main design behind the levels! We always try to give players multiple ways to get to certain areas. It was great seeing someone else play through the levels, it actually made us appreciate them more! We'll forward your comment about the soundtrack to Abiageal, as I'm sure she will be glad to know you like it! Blessings, Little Temple Group

    DOOM II - Dimensions

MAP 03 "Castle of Darkness" has been added along with deathmatch starts. We tested with bots and it actually makes an excellent DM map. The main levels wad now has Map info along with appropriate skies. The DMUS wad has been majorly updated. Instead of trying to convert to ogg ourselves, we finally asked Abiageal O'Meara to do it. She managed to get the file size down from 54.MB to a mere 7MB. The DMUS file also includes the custom sound effects, adding only a few extra hundred KB to the overall file size. Someone gave us feedback on how easy the first level was last time thus we made it slightly more difficult, we'd appreciate the same feedback for MAP03. DOOM II - Dimensions

Yeah, I just reread the thread and realized I forgot to mention we're still working on the thing. Thanks for the link! No the level isn't a hub yet, we're still working on how it might work but I think the info you linked will really help! It is basically an unfinished version so people can have a way to get to the maps in episode one.

    DOOM II - Dimensions

Technically it's two playable maps. Though map01 serves as a hub to the four episodes. If you mean playable maps as in monsters to kill, secrets to find, then yes, theres only one in the current upload though, we're well, kamila and elizavetta are working on MAP03 as I type this. =)

    DOOM II - Dimensions

Just a little update while we work on MAP03. We think the sound track by Abiageal O'Meara is just as important as the levels themselves and should receive some coverage. The following is whats there so far and hints of whats to come. Enjoy! Also, just in case, Abiageal O'Meara can currently be contacted at this address - Abbey0237@gmail.com http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EwnRwT1Ql6Q http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lpBpQp1OuBw http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VeeFFOT8kms http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X-3j7Xvg8qo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u5mdNsVtR-8 Blessings, Little Temple Group

    DOOM II - Dimensions

Not sure what you mean exactly. The first map is indeed a hub level yes =) Also, the file has just been updated. Fixed missed flags on objects and decoration for MAP01, sped up a lift in MAP02 and tweaked the difficulty slightly. We also fixed a few small places where a player would fall and get stuck between the outside of the base where the green armor is.
  18. Greetings, fellow DOOMers! My friends and I are rather new to the DOOM experience. Two years ago I got a used Playstation that came with DOOM and Final DOOM. This was my first step into the world of DOOM and it was truly frightening at night, alone in a dark small bedroom with a tiny TV sitting on the floor. Fastforward a year and say hello to my first computer game DOOM adventures when I found an old boxed copy of all the classic DOOM games. My friends and I had fun dialing up through DOOM 95 and playing "old school" and still do. However, we began looking around the web, downloading custom levels and thinking "Wow, we want to do this!" Thus, Projekt Xero was born. We learned how to programme doors, make lifts, and out door areas, after that, we jumped straight into our first WAD. The plans? Well, it's still in early stages and we are open to ANY help, criticism, anything to make the WAD the best it can be! Features All new 32 levels for DOOM II including secret levels and an all new story (when it's done) A seperate Death match only wad file with 10 or more levels based upon single player levels. Coop compatibility in the single player missions All new soundtrack composed by Abiageal O'Meara NOTE We realize of course that large wad files are a pain for some and much to our music composers dismay, we will be releasing a stripped down version without the new music for every level. 38 tracks in 128 MP3 could prove to be quite the large file size. Abiageal O'Meara is currently looking into MIDI versions of the songs but non of us are sure where that'll go. We have finished one level and have recently began redoing aspects of textures and things from a strict Zdoom format to be compatible with Odamex. We hope to work closely with them, as well as DOOM players everywhere! We aren't too good at taking screenshots to show off levels and the main mapper for MAP01 is still making tweaks (mostly for Odamex) but before we continue too far into the project, we would love some feedback. Things we're doing wrong, things that shouldn't be changed, and so on. We plan on becoming a member of this community but, in case you want to reach us directly, you can contact us at the following address littletemplegroup@aol.com Comments and things related directly to Abiageal O'Meara's soundtrack can either be posted here or can be sent to this address abbey0237@gmail.com The current demo is around 5MB and is completely compatible with the latest version of Zdoom, though feel free to test other engines. Be aware, they need some sort of hexen support to function probably. DOOM II Projekt Xero & Greetings!

Another small update! After giving the wadfile to close friends and letting them play it, we realized it is horrible unbalanced in it's current form. So, we took the three maps we have, deleted all monsters, health, ammo and re-added them. So, the wad file now supports multiple difficulties and level 1 feels more like level 1 instead of level 20. http://www.freefilehosting.net/projektxerodemo1 Tells us what you think! Blessings, Little Temple Group Further down is spoilers. On easy and normal, the red keycard in MAP01 is now in the Imp compartment behind the computer wall in the dark grey and blue room and the pillar where the red key is on hard has a health bonus on easy and normal. On easy and normal, the yellow keycard in MAP02 is now in a small compartment on the wall behind the piller that lowers behind the crushers. The pillar that had the yellow key now has a backpack on easy and normal. On hard, the new yellow key compartment has a rocket, and the yellow key remains in it's old place. On easy and normal, the blue keycard in MAP03 is now on top of the two containers where the switch to lower the pillar for the blue keycard is on hard. When playing on easy or normal, there is a box of shells on the pillar where the blue key is on hard. We added a new sector to extend the exit chamber in MAP03.

DOOM II Projekt Xero & Greetings!

After some computer problems and a slight redraw of the blueprints for MAP03, we've finally finished it. Kamila did take some time on other maps and may devote her vanilla project all to herself after projekt xero is done but for now, this is our top priority. This map is mixed this time, though the main blueprints were drawn up by Kamila, Elizavetta put a lot of her ideas into it during the mapping process and as such, credit will go to the both of them when we updated the readme file. Maps may from now on take slightly longer because we plan on trading off. Kamila did the first 2 maps by herself but, to get everyone involved. Elizavetta will help Kamila with MAP04 as well. Than Valentine will work with Kamila on the next two, and than myself, and it'll keep going with that pattern. We hope you enjoy =) Kamila has also been working slightly with Deathmatch maps for the project. The music for the UAC Research Lab Main Hall (MAP03) is already in the PRXMUS wad you have if you downloaded the last time we posted an update on the project. http://www.freefilehosting.net/projektxerodemo1 Blessings, Little Temple Group

DOOM II Projekt Xero & Greetings!

Well, not really and I apologize if I've offended anyone and didn't mean to make light of the disorder but, here's the deal. TLDR version is at the bottom. Some of you may be wondering why the updates to Projekt Xero have been slow and for those of you who HAVE been wondering, this is why. Dispite work going smoothly, Kamila feels that this wad file might be too "advanced" for our first outing. She feels like the story restricts her design ideas (example would be Elizavetta's version of MAP01, as opposed to Kamila's). She's been sketching around in vanilla DOOM II compatibility while Elizavetta works out kinks in Projekt Xero's MAP03 and I have to say, some of the designs are neat but, they are quite... un-real worldly, for lack of a better (or actual) word. It got me thinking, is this normal for groups of people (mainly new mappers to do this?). We haven't contacted Abiageal O'meara yet (our music composer) but, assuming we went through with this thing, and keeping it in vanilla would mean MIDI music over Abiageal's current soundtrack in progress for Projekt Xero. I know next to nothing of music and Abiageal knows very little of DOOM. Firstly, she uses an Apple Macintosh with Logic Pro 9. I recently got my hands on the soundtracks for DOOM and DOOM II and I really do like the midi sequences used. We'd like to include Abiageal in the project. Trouble is, we would like the music to sound as vanilla as possible. Logic I don't know much of, but, it does some pretty neat stuff as I do love the Projekt Xero soundtrack, mainly MAP01, 02, intermission, MAP03, 04, 06, 09 but, in midi form, its well... an ear buster. It just doesn't work. Abiageal spent A LOT of time on the arrangements and when we requested midi for alternate downloads, she complied but said it was so bad, she didn't even want to send it (though, she did) and well, we can see why. TLDR: Is this silly? Should we keep working projekt xero instead of putting it on hold? is kamila crazy? are there any (namely Macintosh) midi software composers that might give more of a vanilla doom sound? Thanks in advance! Little Temple Group

I believe Kamila would like to take up this offer. She hasn't said but, I'll tell her she did so she has to. I am mainly just curious to see what she can pump out in 30 minutes. Haha

DOOM II Projekt Xero & Greetings!

Here is the trailer we made. It isn't meant to be taken seriously but we had fun. Kamila played through the game and than edited the video recording with Elizavetta and Valentine while I was at work. Hope it gives you a few laughs =) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1psds1vJP9s&feature=plcp
