Honestly, I love Quake for its Lovecraftian fantasy/horror aesthetic (sorta like Dark Souls with mid-90s tech), but Doom wins out here.

This may sound like a stupid question, but how do I install the commercial PWADs?

I got a Hudl for Christmas, and like every device, I'd like to play Doom on it. Anyone know an Android port that's not too system-intensive?
-
Yeah, the plasma gun isn't always that useful except in emergencies. When I play through E2, I always keep the plasma in reserve until the Cyberdemon fight.

I just finished playing through Doom The Way Id Did, and now I'm looking for another megawad (or several) to play. Compatibility is not an issue. I exclusively use GZDoom, although something that takes advantage of the increased mobility would be nice. Difficulty: Not looking for something too punishing, but something that provides a challenge. As an aside, are there any custom levels that work particularly well in/are specifically designed for Brutal Doom?

Didn't someone make a PDF not too long ago, similar to the Doom Bible, but relating to the Doom that actually came about? I'm trying to find it, but I can't remember any details of it. EDIT: Encyclopedia Daemonica. That's what I was looking for.

Well, that's disappointing. I would like to see a remake of classic Doom with the atmosphere of 3.

Thoughts on "Doom 3" after much time has passed
optimusjamie replied to Koko Ricky's topic in Doom 3
I think that Doom 3 is a good game, but it becomes better if you use mods. Sikkmod and the various HD textures: Does what the BFG edition does (visually) without spending extra cash. Various shotgun mods: Make it a useful weapon. Classic Doom 3: Fun remake of Episode 1. -
Yeah, this is what I meant by vanilla. Limit-removing, but with a similar feel to vanilla maps and without using any source-port exclusive features. Although now that I think about it, if I make anything really popular, I may make variants of my maps designed for Brutal Doom. Probably getting ahead of myself there, but it's a thought nonetheless.

DW's all-inclusive Discord/Xbox/PSN/Switch/Steam ID bonanza!

My Steam and PSN names are both optimusjamie, but you'll rarely if ever see me on PSN. Steam games: TF2, CS:GO, L4D2, PlanetSide 2, Red Orchestra 2 PSN game: Gran Turismo 5. That's pretty much all I ever play on PS3 these days. -
I've been playing some very impressive community-made maps, and I was wondering how to start doing it myself. What would the best programs be for making DOOM maps, and what tips would you give to someone who's just starting? I'm looking to make vanilla-compatible maps, if that helps.
