  1. Thanks Xaser, thanks to Alter I had most of his maps already, but Chemical Center by Whoo is new to me so that's a bonus. I've gone and gotten permission to use these maps from the folks who are still active. Unearthed Temple is the only one we currently don't have permission to use. We'll be sure to change the name of Brimstone Labs, the red rock of that map kinda clashes with the overall them of the episode so we might be retexturing it, so the name might not even fit anyways.

    Most recent movie you saw

    Godzilla vs Kong CONTAINS SPOILERS! I just finished watching this film on HBO Max a few minutes ago. Overall I liked it. It's probably my favorite of the American Godzilla trilogy. A large part of it has to do with focusing a lot less on the human characters, which have been pretty poorly handled in all of these films. Though I will admit that the the characters here are by far the best of the 3 films, especially Kaylee Hottle as Jia who has an interesting bond with Kong. The real stars of this film of course are Godzilla & Kong, with the main focus being on Kong. Each monster has a unique personality that shows through during the films runtime. The visual design of this film was quite good. As much as I hated the 2014 Godzilla film I have to admit that Gareth Edwards has a keen eye for interesting shots & good cinematography, something that was sorely lacking in Godzilla King of the Monsters save for a few key moments. The biggest aspect about this film that I disliked was just how weird it is, now I've seen every single Godzilla film so far, so I know how bizarre that the classic films got in the past, but considering that this series started off from a fairly grounded standpoint it's so strange to see the hollow earth realm & Mechagodzilla just 3 movies in. Still though if you are looking for a film that has giant monsters duking it out in the middle of a large city & not much else then you are sure to have a lot of fun with this movie.

    How Do People Feel About Wraith Corp Megawads?

    For those who are curious. Tom Mustaine founded Escalation Studios along with former ID Software employee Shawn Green. Their company has work on several ID games including developing SnapMap for Doom 2016. Jimmy Sieben has pretty much been with Gearbox Software since it's founding & is currently the head of tech at Gearbox Software. Mackey McCandlish, who made all of the tiny weirdly textured maps in PG & HTP along with making the new custom sprites for HTP has gone on to be lead designer on some of the most high profile first person shooters in the game industry including Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, Call of Duty, Call of Duty 2, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Modern Warfare 2, Titanfall, Titanfall 2, & Apex Legends. Pavel Hodek & Genesis Krzyzaniak as far as I am aware didn't do anything beyond Hell to Pay.
  7. Hey everybody, it's been a little while since the last update, but don't worry plenty of work has been happening behind the scenes. Wraith777 was suffering from some PC issues for the past month and a half so while I was waiting for him to return to finish maps 29 & 30 I took the time to start the final vanilla testing phase. So far I've been through maps 1-15 plus 31 & 32. So as far as I am concerned those maps are currently ready to be uploaded to IDGames. I did have to make minor changes to almost all of those maps, but that's to be expected with vanilla. Maps 9, 10, & 15 went through more significant changes though, mostly with the visuals to keep a bit more visual consistency across the wad. There's been a few additional changes beyond that, midis by HexenMapper now appear on maps 1, 5, 9, & 10. There might be additional changes beyond that, but I can't remember off the top of my head so they would be pretty minor things. For those who want to check out the current status of the wad a new Alpha build is available here & in the OP. There's still quite a bit left to be done before this wad is finished. I'll try to finish vanilla testing maps 16-20 before the end of the month & hopefully by that time Wraith will have finished map 29 & started working on map 30. In March I'll finish vanilla testing maps 21-30. Beyond the mapping the main things that need to be done are getting the rest of the midis & writing the story text for all of the CWILV's. If everything goes well I fully expect to see this wad finished sometime in May.

    Alright guys this is it. Here's what Ill be uploading to IDGames tomorrow. If you spot any last minute bugs that I may have missed, let me know ASAP! Everything has been addressed in my things to do list from my previous post. I was able to address everything except for finding the source of the midi on SRforgot map 11, so I removed it from the wad. @traversd For map 32 I put a teleport line in the exit room so that the cyber can roam around the map. He still turns invisible in a few spots, but it's way better than being invisible all the time. I put a note in the bugs section of the textfile.

    Another big problem is that the 4 Arch-Viles that teleport in while roaming the secret sectors really shoot the sprite count through the roof.

    Okay everyone we are nearly done here. Below is a link with the latest beta for the project, it includes everyone most recent updates, plus a lot of small bug fixes all over the project, mostly related to issues in vanilla. Switcheroom 2 Beta V0.4 Things that are left to do in the main wad: -Map 08 has some Drawseg overflows. -Map 32 has the sprite limit bug -Replace story text (I'm currently coming up with something) -Replace the demos. If anyone wants to record a few demos for the main screen feel free, just be sure to not record them on a map with Revenants. Things that are left to do in The Forgotten Maps: -I did my best with the zmapinfo, but I can't seem to get the story texts to appear where I need them to. Can anyone help me out here? I need them after maps 2, 7, 14, & also before entering the secret map -I need help identifying the midis on maps 11 & 17. @cannonball 17 is your old map. I'll be uploading this onto the archive on the 31st, if anyone spots any bugs in here before then be sure to let me know asap.

    Okay there's a bug on map 32 I have a question about. In chocolate the cyberdemon in the exit wold randomly appear & disappear, it didn't matter where in the room I was standing. Is this just the sprite limit bug, or is it something else?

    If it works then it's good enough for me. I knew you had to do something with a second sector, I tried a few things but I couldn't figure it out. Thanks for making this. Yup this seems to be the bug. I had to double check because I thought that the skies were the same height, but somehow my sky ended up one unit lower than the other so yeah this is the cause of it then.

    The Official 'Trying to Find a Specific WAD' Thread

    You could be thinking of the development threads. There are quite a few cleaned up textures in TNT: Revilution, if the Egyptian textures are what you are looking for then you can find them in there. I believe that Kyka tuned those up. As for the fences, those would be in TNT: Devilution, which is still in development, if I recall correctly it was Xaser who made better versions of those textures. A bit off topic, but this is the first time I've seen you on Doomwold since I released Revilution. Out of curiosity have you played it? I'd be very interested to know what your thoughts are on map 12 since you were one who originally created the map. I'd be really curious to see what the map looked like when you originally submitted the map to the project all those years ago.

    Does anyone know how to fix projectiles passing through walls in vanilla? It's a really huge section of walls & it's seemingly random where projectiles can pass through & where they can't. Here's the map I'm having problems with. Map 13 Here's where things are being weird.

    Is there anyone who can make a Zmapinfo for the Switcheroom 2 bonus maps? There were 23 maps rejected during the development of this project & I want to release them in a single wad alongside the main project. I don't want anything to do with Switcheroom for the rest of my life. As far as letting someone else run the show, Scifista42 burned that bridge. I can't stop someone from doing the switching map concept, but this will be the last project to feature the Switcheroom name.

  23. The final round of CWILV graphics are now finished! Map 21 Map 22 Map 23 Map 24 Map 25 Map 26 Map 27 Map 28 Map 29 & 30 Guess you'll have to play the wad to see them :) In other news as of last month Wraith has started working on the final 2 maps for the project, outside of the 2 maps the only big need for this project right now is midi's, which I'm going to start pursuing in the coming weeks. If all goes well Perdition's Gate Resurgence will see it's final release by spring 2021.

    Whatā€™s the go with fur suits / cosplay

    Hello, fursuiter here. I've got 2 fursuits that I wear around conventions. My main fursona is Icy Fox, which you can see below. There are many reason's that people wear fursuits or cosplay, all of the reasons that you listed above are true for different people. There are plenty of Fursuiters & Cosplayers who simply find joy in making an existing character or an original character come to life. Fictional characters can really resonate with people for various reasons, I know plenty of people who will spend month's making a character come to life for their next convention so that they can bring the joy of seeing that character in real life to other people. Others do like to do it for fame & prizes, almost every anime & comic book convention that I've gone to has some kind of competition for best cosplay where prizes are awarded in several categories. Doing it for fame isn't that uncommon either, though it can be difficult to succeed in such a niche community. There are several well known "celebrities" in the furry fandom, Telephone, Majira Strawberry, & Sonic Fox are a few examples. For most people I know & including myself the most common reason to fursuit is because it's simply fun. Coming up with an original character in your head, seeing it come to life as a fursuit, & then getting to use that character to bring joy & entertainment to others is one of the best things about being a furry.

    DBP30: The Magnificent Five

    Thanks for the kind words everyone. I'm glad to have made something everyone seems to enjoy as my first Doomer Boards Project. Hopefully by this weekend @Big Ol Billy can finish the last 2 sprite replacements for the Pain Elemental & Arachnotron. Once that is done I'll add them to the wad along with D1M3's improved mugshot & upload this to idgames. I'll also post a link to a slightly expanded resource pack & I encourage anyone who wants to to feel free to use that pack to make additional western themed maps.
