      Yeah, that was sort of nice to have multiple formats supported when it came to DVDs. But I think the upcomming BluRay vs HD-DVD battle won't be the same. I believe Sony announced that they weren't going to support the HD-DVD format since they couldn't reach an agreement in the negotiations with Toshiba.

      I think we may see a repeat of history soon.

      For the record...I saw the BluRay technology being shown using these ultra high-res TVs while I was in Japan (near Umeda in Osaka, there's this nice large Sony store in the new Herbis building). They were clear enough that I could see individual fibers and strands of thread on clothing from a distance. So I'm sort of an early supporter of BluRay already.

      People always use minidiscs for recording shit. They've sort of taken the place of casette recorders

      I don't know a single person who uses minidiscs. They sound pretty damn useless. Why use a minidisc when you can use a normal disc?
