  1. 5 bucks this gets helled within the three days, place your bets.
  2. Ah I see. I saw plenty of footage of them, but I never made the connection between them and Archviles.
  3. If not, that's a shame. As much as I hate their guts, they always induced this special brand of panic that would be interesting to experience in a modern-day game.
  4. Well, if we're talking cult films... you should check out Zardoz. Sean Connery in a loincloth, giant talking stone heads, and the... strangest opening three and a half minutes ever.
  5. It's times like this that I wish I could download someone's entire Twitter feed as a PDF.
  6. This post might be better in the WADs & Mods subforum than here. I do agree that this would be a neat little thing, tho.
  7. Classic UAC - Hey let's work on teleportation technolOH SHIT WE OPENED A PORTAL TO HELL Doom3 UAC - Hey let's work on tech to better mankiOH SHIT OUR LEADER IS POSSESSED BY SATAN Doom 2016 UAC - Phn’glui mglw’nafh Cthulhu R’lyeh wagh’nagl fhtagn
  8. Well, I don't know about favorite movie in general, but Monty Python and the Holy Grail and The Life of Brian are certainly my two favorite comedies.
  9. Alright I may try the second one then.
  10. See I'd do that but I'm only 18 so... sadly not legal for me to be drinking.
  11. A lot of the music from Doom was based on popular metal songs of the time. Bobby Prince was also a lawyer iirc, so he knew how similar he could make it without a lawsuit. http://www.doomworld.com/linguica/doomcovers/ (watch the whole video) And the Cacodemon is not only very similar in appearance to the Beholder from D&D, but is also... even more similar in appearance to Jeff Easley's Astral Dreadnought art for the first edition of Manual of the Planes, a D&D manual. http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/doom/images/f/f7/Beholdercaco.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20050109022810 That particular piece of art is sometimes in the Doomworld banner, in fact.
  12. Dunno if this counts, but I'm REALLY surprised that no-one tried suing id for copyright infringement when the game first released because if the... uh... "inspirations" of the music or the Cacodemon design.
  13. I generated a megawad or two with it one time for the hell of it, and the thing that really made me laugh my ass off was that all the secrets were... like... ridiculously obvious. They were all indentations in the wall an inch or so deep with bright lighting all around the perimeter of the fake wall that made it super easy to see at long distances.
  14. I have a feeling that a lot of those dislikes aren't because of the game itself, but are because the the CoD4 remaster (that a lot of people [myself included] want to play really badly) is only available if you buy the deluxe edition of Infinite Warfare.
  15. So I've been... attempting to read the infamous Finnegan's Wake by James Joyce, and... I'm having about as much luck as you'd expect. If you're not familiar with the book, just google it and try to read it. You'll see what I mean. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone around here had any tips to help me understand just what the hell is being communicated. I've been peering at the online glossary for the book, which has helped a... small bit, but still any help or advice is appreciated.
