    ZDoomGL 0.74 is out...

    The new versions great, it's much faster (and brighter) than the software version. However a bug (at least on my computer) I've come across is as follows; It seems to not draw anything up to about 128 units in front of the player, so all I see is sky up untill that point. It's quite werid looking. I would post an image, but I don't know how.

    Zdoom Can play Heretic levels as long as the Heretic.wad is in the same folder as Zdoom. Though Legacy and Jheretic both seem to produce less bad nodes on levels than Zdoom. Maybe should have mentioned that in the readme for my wad. Ah well

    Just played through "The Duel". The last wave took me completely by surprise. Though I think the chaingun should have been available at the start like the shotgun, or at least a bit earlier. Other than that, a good level.

    Maybe Deathz0r was refering to wads that were released sometime ago, and have only been put in the Archives recently or into newstuff again, without any changes.

    Just uploaded V1.11 of Steeple.wad to the archives. It's currently in Incoming, but once added to the archives, the link at the top of the page should go to it instead of the old version (V1.1) It has the following changes. 1.Added skill levels. The monster count currently stands at this Skill 1+2: 150 Skill 3: 194 Skill 4+5: 231 The ammo has also been tweaked so that there is slightly less on the lower skills 2.Hid a few of the traps and such throughout the level a bit better, most nocticibly I forgot to hide them on the Automap 3.Also done a bit of tidying up around the level Yeh the nodes are pretty bad at a couple of parts running the level in Zdoom, But they aren't there when running it under Legacy or Jheretic(If you let it build the nodes at startup). Thanks for the feedback

    Actually what I said above didn't seem to be the cause of the error. When I changed the lindefs values of about 10 sectors with the same propeties (and trigger linked to them) making them into 1 sector, the problem completely dispeared. Prehaps theres a limit in Doomsday that only allows a maximun amount of flats across different sector to move during a level

    On closer inspection i have discovered the error only occurs in Jheretic, (Legacy and Zdoom work fine) Stupid me for not checking earlier. The error seems to realate to the ammount of activated triggers (bout 80)(wheter they are moving at the time of the crash doesn't seem to effect it). Guess it's a limitation i'll have to work round as the map's appearence was designed round Jheretic. Thanx for the asistence ppl
  12. A couple months ago i released a Heretic map: Steeple Chase. I've since began to tidy it up and such with the aim being to rerelease it. However recently it has began to crash after I have crossed a specific number of trigger linedefs with the following error P_AddActivePlat: no more plats! I don't beleive it's because of to many triggers or anything like that because other maps i have made with more triggers don't suffer from said error.It also seems to be Heretic Specific Can someone plz tell exactly what causes it, and how to fix it?

    A couple serious things wrong with the readme I released with Steeple chase (Aside from there being 2 much gibberish) 1. The Wad WILL work under Legacy and Also unknown 2 me until now Zdoom However it works best under Jheretic becasue the Physics (I.e Phoenix Rod Explosion) are off in Zdoom and some of the badguy data is bugged in Heretic (I.e sabreclaws move 2 slow) 2. The Music and Lich sound Mentioned were cut due 2 file size In response 2 it crashing every 3 seconds, It will not work under any V1.7 Of Doomsday (August releases), but it will work under V1.6 however(The March releases)which it runs fine on as well as Legacy and Zdoom
