I will continue to bless you all with my grace, beauty, presence, and perfectly honed virtue of modesty. I love you all. -
What do you call a demonic pact in doom... A pinkie promise.

Only good news.

I prefer slow brewed pinkies, but will admit that instant will do if I'm on my way to work.

Yay, I think? Is Fortnite a decent play? I've never tried it.

Hey everyone, So I've been musing the development of doom and its influence on the usual FPS lineup of weapons but a question sprung to my mind, why shotguns? It isn't the most commonly found military weapon, heck the standard rifle doesn't make an appearance unless we're looking at former humans, and its inclusion might appear strange next to the new-fangled sci-fi weaponry of the rest of the roster. So why do you think the shotgun got its FPS crown in doom? Purely gameplay? With it serving a mid-range combat role with easily distinguishable ammo vs common bullets and clips? Or is pop culture more to attribute to its stardom, as something 'Groovy' to keep 'For Close Encounters'? I'd love to hear what you think. Let's give the Boom *chick chick* some affection.

And I printed the sales receipt on a napkin.

No time for that, just get out the airlock!

Hm, do you think a co-existence of the rifle and shotgun could have happened? Or too much cross over?

Hi all, its me, that guy who's be registered for ever but posted around 10 times. I was playing through Christmas Cheer from the Chillzone, and map 08 JollyBloodBell has a really pretty midi track, but I have no idea what it is. I don't think it is, but it wasn't Stronghold: Edge of Chaos was it?

If you could make a "Doom game", what would it be and why?

You're a UAC scientist looking after different demons in a controlled facility, like a tamagochi. -
The cryptic one, I too have played hexen.

Just blasted through it, well done! I enjoyed it and had a good time, here is some feedback that I would like you to consider for future projects though if I may... 1: Lower your ceilings, the rooms in this map felt very tall to me, and nearly became overwhelming due to the verticality, I think the height in general should be a little lower, which will allow you to use taller structures later for more 'wow' sections. 2: More monsters and more ammo, I was playing on UV and had fun but I wanted more to shoot! I was also really expecting a teleporter ambush at the rocket launcher and blue key. 3: Watch your textures, a few mis-aligned textures there, over all I got a good star-base vibe, I think maybe run through the map once or twice more, just add a few detail tweaks, maybe another section before the exit with lots of bad-guys to mow down, and you'll be golden.

I don't have children, but my earliest memory is playing DooM on my dads knee, does that count? Also Sunshine Boys is just... its just perfect really.

How come the monsters don't run out of ammo?

'The Working Version' of Under a Killing Moon?! Hot Diggity! -
There are moonman and even columbine wads, make whatever you want to make. Can I post XYZ on these platforms is a different question, as is how will XYZ be received. But art is the truest form of freedom, let your only prohibitions be what you want to say, and the reaction you want to cultivate. (and it is worth reiterating be careful regarding your physical location.)

Intelligent enough to orchestrate a cross dimensional invasion, and wield eldritch magics and human tech alike to further their goals, however... They appear to have a pretense to rage and violence which appears strange and counter productive to us humans, especially when it leads them to such trivial internal conflicts, but we need to remember, a lot of what we deem to be 'intellect' stems from logic born of self preservation, if we as humans were without number and did not fear death in any capacity, our actions would probably resemble theirs more closely.

What popular wads would improve or destroy Doom's legacy if they were released instead of Doom.wad in 1993
Tompig replied to Kute's topic in WAD Discussion
Out of curiosity, are we saying these hypothetical alternatives to doom.wad were still developed by the team at Id? I'm just thinking that the personality contributions of the members of the team also influenced the legacy of the game to a degree, even if the 'work' was a 1 to 1 recreation to a user wad. -
