  7. Sayyyyyy, there ain't a way to make 3DGE/RTS take health from the player without inducing the 'pain' sound and slightly-red screen is there?

    I've a feeling there ain't, hence me posting this here: feature request? I really want me an overcharge system similar to Wolfenstein: The New Order here. :3

  10. You have the same problem getting good ideas onto the screen as you have getting good ideas on television or even on the radio - You really can't do it. You can't even get good ideas in the newspaper. If you have a good idea, keep it to yourself. This is America, folks.

      There may be little profit in that, but the act of creation isn't solely about that.

    Nice. I mean, as patchy as a community speedmap compilation can be expected, but nostalgic in a way. Reminded me of mid-'90s megaWADs.

      I do many other things that aren't Doom. Inbetween gamedev and art/illustration, I like to attend shows (KMFDM last week was pretty amaze if I'm honest), time-attack Sonic Mania (got a rivalry going on with a Facebook friend right now, it's fun) and head to friends' places for D&D or other geeky shit.

      But I hang out here because I love Doom; and talking about Doom on a Doom forum kinda makes sense, you know? ;)

    You members are more oftentimes than not fine folks of making arguments over everyday issues as I pull off, so I'd like to share something of a dilemma with you:

    NOTE: sheerly radical examples don't count. I.e. don't go into lenghts like, said guy raped your elder sister, killed your parents or was the culprit behind the arson that cost your home. Stick to issues that are likely to happen in your everyday life and so.

  21. Many thanks for all the feedback on The Becoming. You requested extra health in the maps, yeah? What I'm thinking is, I start trying to speedrun these and just stick the odd stim where it facilitates that. Yes/no? ;)

      You suggested stimpacks, I remember. But the idea of placing them in a manner that directly facilitates a speedrun is what I'm getting at. Idea is, I try speedrun a map and anywhere that's a real fucker for health, drop a stimpack there. Even if I bung in a couple extra secret areas to make that work -- as far as I'm concerned the map balance works well enough (although harsh af, I do admit) without sticking them on the main path.
