I'm addicted to Zdoom's uncapped framerate, so I cannot play with Jdoom anymore. I used to play with Legacy when I had my only my crappy 500 Mhz PC, since the framerate dropped a lot when I played Zdoom with higher resolution than than 320x200. Now that I have a new computer and am able to use higher resolutions Zdoom is the only port I use.

I'm ugly. And short. And I also have naturally curly hair, which isn't that good when you're a male...

Textures not lineing up right in Doom Builder, help?
DooMer 4ever replied to Kurisu's topic in Doom Editing
Now that the thread is bumped I might as well ask a question as this same problem appeared once to me too. So, how do I change the nodebuilder. I have a map with 18000 sidedefs made for Zdoom and I would like to use Zennode if it's better. But when I try to change it it just makes an error (I don't remember the error exactly right now) and the nodes won't be built. So is zennode not compatible with some Zdoom features or what could be the matter? -
That's warez you know, I suggest you remove the link. Before a mod does that is.

I've always though that E1M6 - On the hunt sound a lot like a song from Castlevania IV. Of course it's a lot different, but the style is pretty similar. Here's a crappy midi: http://www.vgmusic.com/music/console/nintendo/snes/ClockworkMansion.mid

Vote Now for your favorite Action Ad!
DooMer 4ever replied to Scuba Steve's topic in Everything Else
Heh, with DA's logic, the entire world is just one huge picture :) Anyway, my vote goes for DA, I don't think anyone could / would want to prove any more how much s/he loves Action Doom... -
My third TAS Movie: Ultimate Doom Episode 4 in 2:32
DooMer 4ever replied to entryway's topic in Speed Demo Submissions
I don't know if it's that unlikely. If you fire the shot very close at the mastermind it can quite often be killed with one shot, maybe 50% chance. But then again, that could be Zdoom too :) As for the movie, I'll watch it as soon as I get a chance. -
Buy it, it should definitely be worth the price. LOL, you've registered that username in 2002 and you've never noticed you have two until now? heh

Lure Of The Tempress and Beneath A Steel Sky are freeware nowadays AFAIK. Both very interesting adventure games. Look for the downloads yourself.

Well, I have a really annoying alarm clock. I hate it but I it will have to do as I don't feel like wasting my money on new one... The clock has two stages, and the other one of them is a true killer. It's so loud and the sound is so horrible that I wouldn't be suprised if older people have died getting heart attack because of it. The times I've switched it accidentally to the louder alarm I've woke up my heart bumping and my hands trembling. The extra annoyance is that you have to push the switch right rather than left to switch the alarm off and I always accidentally push it left. I cannot thing how anyone would want to own that horrible alarm clock though.

I guess you mean this: http://www.gamers.org/pub/idgames/levels/doom2/v-z/zombies.zip I don't think it's beta, but the final version. I've played it and I didn't like it too much, mostly because I kept getting lost and the new sprites and textures don't look that good. A lot work has been done for it though so it's worth a look at least.

Well, there are some games that I'd put before Doom, but none of them have survived to the final votings, SMB3 is one of my favorites though. Zelda on SNES could be one game I enjoyed more when I played through it the first time and Castlevania IV another to name a couple. Half-life will propably win in the end and most will vote for it just because of cs, bah. Doom is a lot better game than Half-life in nearly every way, so that really sucks. And there are more people that have played Half-life than Doom, or at least there are now, so it's pretty unfair. Doom and SMB3 are on quite equal positions, because roughly the same amount of people have played it and they are about as old.

What zarkyb said. If map01 is huge then the detail level must be very low.

I actually made a website for my Doom stuff. All the New Oldstuff Chronicles reviews made by me will be moved there and there will be info on my new project as well. Now, check these: http://www.freewebs.com/doomer4ever/riverge2.htm And ANY feedback is higly appreciated. And playtesters are also needed later so tell me if you're interested.

Yes, playing heart.wad has propably affected my mapmaking somehow. At least The idea for the chainsaw came partly from that great map. Ok, thanks for the tip. If the slopes aren't hard to do I'll definitely learn them. The should be pretty useful too. And it is tank at the backround. It doesn't look that great from close, but maybe with the help of slopes it will look better.

Vile Flesh is exellent, couldn't stop playing it and I had an early wake and an important school project to be done.

NES games speedrunning demos/videos
DooMer 4ever replied to Kristian Ronge's topic in Everything Else
I looked for a good nes speedrun site one day but couln't find any, so thanks. That Snes metroid run in 38 minutes was amazing, but unfortunately it desynced in around 30 minutes when I watched it and didn't feel like watching it again for half an hour :( I'll watch it again someday though. -
Oh my, I forgot to add all the basic information. The wad is for Zdoom (and other boom compatible ports?) and it's single player. I'm currently studying Zdoom effects. This far I've learned deep water and making different light to ceiling and floor. Thanks for the comments, I'll remember everyone who wants to playtest too. It will be a while though before it's ready for playtesting. Yeah, I know. They don't look very nice, but I couln't find any better textures for the spaceship. I'll change the COMPBLUE texture propably though. No, It's going to be SP. The monsters just aren't inculded yet. Well, there are some but a lot of them will be changed. LOL. Anyway, the numbers are useful hints for the order the switches should be pressed. You CAN do it other way too, but you can get in trouble that way :)

Somewhere around 2000 when I saw Doom2 in some PC store and bought it. I've never stopped playing Doom after that for more than a month.

Spontaneous Combustion Screenshots!
DooMer 4ever replied to Lutrov71's topic in WAD Releases & Development
Looks quite good, but the lighting in the third shot is just ugly. Those light should really light up a larger area than just a thin sector it does now. EDIT: also the ceiling in the third shot doesn't fit. -

DooMer 4ever replied to Linguica's topic in Doom General

LOH2 released. Damn right, that's cool. [-complevel 9]
DooMer 4ever replied to Opulent's topic in Speed Demo Submissions
I didn't have much problem with the PE's. I just got as close to them as possible and shot them, and usually didn't get too much damage. But don't kill all the PE's in the first try, visit the other room in the meantime and then come back to finish them.
