    Doom on the Oculus Rift

The video is GZ3Doom http://rotatingpenuin.com/gz3doom/, part of the ZDOOM family. Doomsday and GZ3Doom are the two source ports that support the Oculus Rift at this time. GZ3Doom is my baby, and I also helped with the initial Oculus Rift implementation for Doomsday.

I think most people who have tried Doom on the Rift would agree with you: you cannot imagine it until you have tried it.

    Oculus Rift

As mentioned elsewhere, Doom can be played with the Oculus Rift using GZ3Doom (http://rotatingpenguin.com/gz3doom/) or using Doomsday (http://dengine.net/). I'm planning to also support the Rift DK2 (dev kit version 2), in GZ3Doom, after my DK2 arrives later this summer.

    Doom on the Oculus Rift

No, that's definitely GZ3Doom. I recognize the intermission screen glitch, and Doomsday Rift mode does not have that sort of weapon sprite. Watch again at around 2:30-2:40; he looks nearly straight up, then nearly straight down. Looking straight up or down actually works rather well. That's something I struggled with when I was working on correcting the aspect ratio in the Rift.

By the way, I'm still very interested in any feedback you have that might help me improve GZ3Doom. I've released many improved versions over the past 8 months, mostly based on feedback from players.

    GZ3Doom v1.8.6_g Released

You're welcome! I recognize that Graf Zahl has done literally over a hundred times more than I have for this project. I maintain my GZ3Doom fork, which adds stereo 3D support. But none of this would be possible without Graf Zahl and the other maintainers of ZDoom/GZDoom. This is the beauty of open source software.
