    Appreciation from a longtime lurker

I am, and it's even more befuddling because I'm using an RTX 2080. For Eternity, I've actually found a workaround though, that involves turning off V-Sync and enabling fullscreen windowed mode. Seems to eliminate screen tearing without needing the V-Sync that's causing the issues in the first place. Could be a worthwhile feature for a future release of PrBoom+ if it's managed to fix the same problem here.

Eternity would definitely be my favorite too if it weren't for the bizarre V-Sync caused stuttering issue that plagues PrBoom+ too. Love both ports, but both suffer the same issue. Enable it, and you'll notice that the video hitches ever so slightly if you slowly move your mouse left or right. Even more noticeable if you use binded keys to slowly turn left or right. It's such a shame because I can't stand the screen tearing if V-Sync is disabled.
  3. There's plenty of in-between. As someone who played the Quakecon 2019 demo, which was specifically designed to teleport/usher you from arena to arena, there were still moments where you could slow down and explore areas with monsters wandering around. They seem to speed past this aspect even in the live demos they streamed of this exact gameplay demo. If the edited down 30 minute or so demo I played had exploration, I can only assume the full game will have far more in-between areas with small encounters.

    PrBoom-Plus, ver. 2.5.1.4

Running into an issue where it seems that V-Sync creates choppy video. Thought it was actually my mouse at first and it drove me nuts, but it turns out that PrBoom+ seems to have some sort of uniquely bizarre problem where V-Sync causes the game to hitch up. Most are small, but it actually created a pretty significant hitch at one point during standard gameplay.

    Crispy Doom 5.10.3 (Update: Aug 17, 2021)

Might be a bit of an unanswerable question at this point, but I'm running into an issue regarding SFX audio level in Crispy-Heretic. Not only is it tied to the Music level, but in general it seems a tad lower than it should be. I know from reading, and older iterations of Chocolate and Crispy Doom, that it's related to the SDL2 libraries, but those haven't given me trouble in a long time. I'm aware the non-Doom Crispy binaries aren't touched much, but is there any sort of working fix for this? Not getting this problem at all with the current version of Chocolate Heretic/Hexen/etc. EDIT: Did more research, and it seems like it'd be fixed with the introduction of a crispy-midiproc.exe equivalent that works for the Crispy-NonDoom iterations of the ports, as the version included with Crispy Doom as the fix for Vista+'s MIDI playback issues isn't inherently compatible. Don't know how easily possible the creation of this would be though.

    DooM E3 2017

Would you mind providing sources to these apparent news sources claiming that DOOM will be at E3? As I haven't seen such a thing.

    Infighting... real deal or scripted?

It exists, and I had it happen a few times in-game. Here's a pretty good example video.

    Unreleased Doom Marketing Promos

Why would they try to stop stuff at this point? Either way, id themselves have recently talked about efforts to show off more early stuff.

    Dusk - Hexen + Quake + Doom

Game looks like it could be a hell of a lot of fun but dear god, I'll be damned if that's not one of the ugliest looking games I've seen in a long time. They're trying too hard to emulate the style of Quake, by setting limitations even lower than those present in Quake. People in Quake didn't have fucking corn chip heads and the weapons were more than a black tube with a handle on them.

    Your best/worst cinema experience?

I can honestly say I've never really had a bad movie experience. At the same time, I've never seen a movie in a packed theater. It's really odd. I don't try to avoid seeing movies with lots of other people. Even if I go and see a movie a few days after opening, there's at max five, not even filled rows of people in the theater. Might just be where I live in Florida, but it's always dead as hell. Probably the best movie experience in a while was seeing either The Force Awakens, or seeing an anniversary screening of Ghostbusters at this great theater near me. Probably the most packed theater I actually have been in. Theater was filled with fans, and actually having a theater full of people laughing and having a good time was fun.

Ultra-nightmare beaten with pistol / grenades only :o

Tyson run would probably still be using melee only. Don't know how the fuck you'd get past the bosses with that though.

DOOM easter eggs / references / injokes

I'm pretty sure it is. A few id employees have recognized those pictures, and all the DOOT stuff. They're pretty in-touch with the community, believe it or not. I even remember seeing a picture on Twitter a while back where one of the employees was holding up a DOOD poster. Also, what else would be the correlation between Trumpets and Skeletons beyond that meme?

Any idea why the sound is so screwed up?

Do you use 7.1 headphones by chance? I've used the same, and I think it might actually be a problem exclusive to those.

    DOOM on Game Informer

Looks like this month's issue of GI is going to have a 12 page cover story, jam packed with new content. Article: http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2016/01/06/game-informer-february-cover-reveal-doom-2416160408.aspx GI will also have a "Hub" page open that will update with new features, stories, and screenshots every day for the next week. One interesting thing to note, is that in the video, they describe as the whole game's visual aesthetic as being heavily influenced by DOOM's original Box Art. Vulkan Support for Doom is now Live

The overall performance boost is outstanding! 100 FPS in places I only got 60 before. However, it seems to cause the game to stutter a bit. The counter says they aren't dropped frames, since the frames stay steady, but for some reason it's almost like my mouse input slows down and the game stutters a bit. Anyone know why this happens?

This is really good but it could really make use of some pitch bends.

Guys...check this new Quake video out

I know it's probably dumb, but my hype for the game significantly dropped after hearing that Mick won't be involved with the OST. His style was perfect for it. There's no way they'll get someone as good, who can capture that style.

Guys...check this new Quake video out

They've already got the game in a playable state. They're gonna show it off at Quakecon this year, 2 and a half months away. It's too late, they aren't changing something that drastic.

    Quake Champions

It's a just as colorful as Q3, if anything, a little less colorful. And the one area they showed in the trailer was pure Q1 gothic.

DOOM's Next Update + Multiplayer Improvements

Woah, that's awesome! How do you get to this in-game? I might just be a dumbass, but I don't see a keybinding or option for it anywhere.
