    Final DOOM demos [-complevel 4]

    Doom 2 under 18 minutes!

Colossal achievement man. I have a feeling this record will probably stand for the longest time out of all the recent ones in the last 5 years. It takes a gross amount of practice and skill to get through sub18 without any major mistakes. Really glad you were able to pull it off.

    How is total time calculated?

Submitting demos for PWADs which do not have records yet is known as "table filling" and is accepted with open arms here. Submitting non-record demos is far more rare. I would recommend posting them in the "Personal Bests" thread stickied to this subforum. There's a good reason you don't see 200 people on the archive for e1m1 :)
  4. Scythe D2ALL UV-Speed in 11:33 (prev 11:42 by 4shockblast) Absolutely garbage time given the 15 second time save on Map03, but at least I got an exit! 30sc1133.zip

    New to speedrun

Correct. When you're recording, your movement will be "shorttics" by default as recording only works with low resolution turning. But yes, if you're practicing (and not recording) then using -shorttics will help keep your environment identical to a real run! Do note that in some source ports, recording won't let you use save/loads, which you will probably want to use a lot when you're practicing a trick or part of a map. So that's where the -shorttics mostly comes into play.

    DOOM II demos [-complevel 2]

The true king of DOOM II has regained the throne. There's always something so satisfying about Looper's movement. Zero-Master next up to the plate?
  8. I'd be down to watch some chill Let's Plays of the OG fast-doom-man. Even if it's just commentating your thoughts on the maps as you're navigating them. I fill a lot of my free time with demos from the DSDA YT channel, so I'm always down for some good doom content. Just a shame so much of the non-demo stuff is brutal doom playthroughs.
  9. Map20 UV-Max in 4:56 Beats the old record by 2m06s. Far more aggressive (and sloppy, my dodging is as bad as ever :P) than the old record. I'd like to see NeilK tackle this one again, because the map is fun and there is still a lot of improvements to be made over this one! id20m456.zip
  10. Map21 UV-Max in 2:38 Beats my old record by 17 seconds. Minor improvements, but they saved some nice time. id21m238.zip
  11. Map26 UV-Max in 3:36 Only a 13 second improvement over Revved's demo, however this run turned out to be more frustrating than I anticipated. If someone else improves it I'll strongly consider going for the much more aggressive route. id26m336.zip
  12. Map22 UV-Max in 4:06 Map22 NoMo100s in 1:55 (should this be in the nomonsters thread instead??) I've had loads of attempts of UV-Max with this route that could be sub4. Low hanging fruit if anyone wants it! id22s155.zip id22m406.zip
  13. Getting back into UV-Max! Map 14 in 3:35. 11 second improvement over the old record. Planning on tackling some of tatsurd's demos eventually, but re-learning how to shoot the bad dudes instead of running past them is taking me a while :P id14m335.zip
  14. Hi guys, In what seems to be a trend this past week, I'm here to help bash the IWAD times some more. 30uv1833.zip
