How do I get my game to use the mod or mods?

Dehacked is the only way that I can think of adding frames to your weapons. You can use the two unused frames from the pistol or you can just use a frame from something else. Just remember to compensate for the new loop you make for your weapon. For example: If you use a frame from the exploding barrel for your weapon just make sure you change the frames that the barrel wants to use. If you did not understand that, than I cant help you.

I am currently using V1.22. Where do I get V1.23 beta 7 or later?

What the hell is the difference between Texture 1 and Texture 2. Why would I Put a new texture in one and not the other. I feel that I cannot go on making textures until I know what the difference is.

I would love to help you out on your textures. Are you making a Total Conversion, or are you making just a level or something?

Hmm! That’s interesting. I guess its back to work the textures for me.

OH! He he. Sorry! I’m using wintex 3.4 so most of you probably don’t know what I’m talking about. It gives the option to make a texture 1 or texture 2 texture. Maybe I should just shut my mouth and use wintex 4.3 instead.

Does anyone know how to extract sprites or textures from other games like Duke Nukem, Shadow Warrior and Blood? Or maybe other similar first person shooters with sprites or textures. I don’t care about strife.

How do I use custom sounds for zdoom? I cant get it to play the sounds that I put in my doom.wad. I went to Zdoom.notgod.com but I cant find where it says how to make it play my new sounds. Actually I found something about using a SNDINFO lump but I don’t know how to make one or what to do with it once I do. Can someone help me out here?

I was bored at work today and stated to draw a map. It worked out pretty damn good. I had keys and the doors they go with. I just may end up making this map and maybe it’s not the last time I’ll do it this way.

I’m pretty sure if you find a good dos mouse driver for your mouse it will work. If you don’t know where to find one online than most small computer stores will give you wone.

I was once a serious doomer. I made great doom conversions with all new graphics that were better than any I ever saw and levels that blew my own mind away, but unfortunately I never released them online an sadly I fell away from doom. That was five years ago. How the times have changed. Now I have come back to my home land and found it has turned into a metropolis of goodies. Now I am humbly asking this new generation of doomers to show me around the town. Zdoom has caught my eye and I need to know what utilities are “a must have” for Zdoom. I have set out to make a total conversion of doom 2 and I need all the goods. Thank you, fellow DOOM FREAKS! Oh the bloodletting is about to begin, I can just feel it!

After reading what you just said I went back and read all that everyone wrote to see if you were being sarcastic and discovered that I was being misleading about the amount of graphics I have replaced so far. Most of them are graphics from my old TC’s that I an recycling into my new one (from 5 years ago.) and others are ones that I took from quake graphics and made them fit the pallet or changed them to be more of something I made (like patches and flats). The sprites are just little things like rockets and ammo and decorative stuff, nothing as hard as monster sprites yet. Not everything that I have so far is going to be used in the final game so I’m not as impressive as I sounded. :)

Hey Enjay. New question. How do I get zdoom to automatically load my PWAD?

Hmm, I made a separate IWAD for my TC and assumed it would be easer to just convert the entire thing but obviously, I was mistaken. In the mean time, I will do as you suggest but when I find a way, POW! I am going to knock out the old sounds, unless of course this is not the way to make a TC. I have found that doom 2 does not do this. I will look for this cleanwad that you speak of and hope it’s the answer to my prayers. (Yes, I do pray about doom.)

Holy CRAP! >=( I just cant get my normal edited sounds to work. For instance, when I make a new pwad with a new sound for the pistol and merge it with the main iwad it doesn’t do a damn thing. I’m using wintex and when I go in and check the doom iwad it thinks that the new sound is in there but when I play the game with or without zdoom it still has the old sound. I discovered that there are two pistol sounds that are identical but one has the new sound and the other has the old one but I cant seem to get rid of the old one. What am I doing wrong and what can I do to fix this?

BBG’s review is one of the funniest reviews I have ever read. LOL funny! It actually made me want to read the damn books to see why they suck so badly.

Does anyone know of a way to get zdoom to play WAV’s for the music instead of MUS’s or MID’s. That stone over there! It just killed my neighbor. HAA, ha, he he!

Sorry! This is going to take me a few days. I want to get a new feeling for this game and I don’t want to taint it with doom, even though I love the feeling of doom. It is becoming a darker game so far. Oh hey! If I change stuff with dehacked how do I upload it onto this site? Never mind that last part. I think I know. Actually, to tell you the truth it’s been a long time since I’ve made a doom level and now I just scared myself because I talked myself up so much. Tee hee! :) This is off the subject but why should I purchase the complete deepsea?

I am a new member but I had doom when it first came out and it was the only thing I played for at least two tears. My friends thought I was an idiot for loving it so much. Then I found a big fat book at the store with a cd in it full of wads and best of all wad editors. It was the book with the blue demon on the front and it had around 900 pages. Then I was making tones of doom levels and by then my friends thought I must have brain damage but finally I got some of them to get into the game and those same friends are helping me with ideas for my new TC project and hopefully I will get at least parts of some levels from them. I am afraid of Doom3. It just doesn’t look like it has the same feel to it and I’m scared that I’m going to hate it. I hope that it will still be doom to me. Oh and I hope they make it easy to edit.
