Does anyone know if these guys were scratch built by Adrian Carmack or if they were photo scanned from some other source. As far as appearances goes they stand out from the rest of the sprites and graphics in Doom and have a bit of a " too realistic " appearance to them, making me believe they're likely scanned from an actual image. Their apparel almost looks to be World War 2 era military fatigues, either German or American. If anyone knows or suspects where these dudes are from, please say so. Otherwise we can at least speculate. My guess is that they could be WWII casualty photos. Here are the dudes in all their glory, just in case you're unsure of what I'm referring to..

Pretty much what Not Jabba said. This wad's goal was to emulate Id's original mapping style but with our own touches. At no point point was it ever advertised or intended to be a vanilla compatible wad on a technical level. -
For me its definitely Unreal 99 for the sheer variety of weapons and environments. I still play it regularly to this day with and without bots. Also the godlike soundtrack. And lets not forget those unforgettable taunts such as "Die, bitch".

I honestly wouldn't mind if they skipped on Diablo altogether. I mean, we've already kicked his ass 3 times. I'm curious to see what they come up with this time regarding the main plot.

Dude, I love Lilith's design. She's so sinister looking with that translucent skin and flesh cape. This Diablo definitely looks like a true return to the visceral darkness of the previous games.

I've only just finished the first map and I'm already in love with this. The weapons are so cool, both visually and functionally.

My winning strat for slaughtermaps is not to play them. All joking aside though, you usually gotta play dirty. Find a cheap camping spot that enemies have a hard time accessing and abuse the hell out of it. Slaughtermaps are also very trial and error in their gameplay. You usually need to know whats going to happen in a slaughtermap if you want any chance of succeeding.

Just finished these maps. Good stuff all things considered. Great music choice (everyone loves Quake 2's soundtrack), and it played fast and fun just how I like it. Only bit of criticism I can provide is that a lot of the map layouts feel very square and uniform. A lot of if not all rooms are very square in their general design and are only ever broken up by doorways or straight halls. Overall a fun map set although a bit repetitive in its layout.

The sky textures in our wad are completely unmodified so if you're having any issues with them then it must be something regarding one of the above mods. Can't say I'm familiar with any of the mods you listed so I won't be able to provide much help in the matter. -
