what are you working on? I wanna see your wads.

Hopefully he drew it normally first and then rotated it so it was diagonal to save himself the torment. If not, then god bless, Sentinel.

So where does it rank on your list of DOOM ?

You're crazy. Doom 3 was just some dark hallways with loud noises playing all the time to try and create atmosphere, and it fails spectacularly. What was meant to seem scary and choc full of mood just turns out bland and boring. D64 on the other hand uses some really unique music that establishes a tone from the very beginning of the level. It uses lighting in its levels effectively and yes, while there may be some very dark sequences a-la Doom 3 the actual design of the areas are far more interesting and unique. Doom 64's textures and decoration placement also give off a sense that this is a place that was actually overrun by demons, whereas in Doom 3 it just feels like an abandoned Mars base where everyone just decided "Ta-ta, we're off lads"

    Theory for new DOOM Story

I'm pretty sure Doomguy is from that Argent D'Nur realm that got absorbed into Hell, but it's fun to come up with crazy stories so I'll try my best. At the end of Inferno, Doomguy supposedly gets back to Earth after a portal opens up, the text screen even mentions something along the lines of "Hell finally plays fair". It's possible this portal was summoned by a priest to trick Doomguy into imprisoning himself in the sarcophagus. Or, maybe Doomguy's imprisonment takes place directly after Doom 2. There were no magic portals that opened up when Doomguy killed the icon of sin, and the end screen mentions a long trek home. Maybe Doomguy was captured on the way back? To further support this theory the end text screen mentions the icon of sin's limbs scattered across hell, sounds a lot like the Titan Doom Slayer killed to me (this is ignoring the icon of sin in Doom 2016, though). The question is how does the beginning of Doom 4 fit in? ANOTHER invasion? Surely after the first incident the UAC would have precautionary measures to stop such a thing from happening? I think a UAC cover up of the first incident would only be likely if my Doom 1 theory is right, after a direct invasion on Earth I don't think anyone's gonna just forget about the demons...

DOOM easter eggs / references / injokes

I actually tried the icon of sin easter egg without knowing about it, even shot a rocket. I guess I wasn't hitting it at the right spot, I was at the exit of that area. Protip: Shoot the rocket from far away, not close

    Cyberpussy

I played on UV and it was easy as shit. No idea what you're talking about Also I fought the Hell Guards yesterday and that was infinitely more interesting and more difficult fight. Why can no one seem to get the cyberdemon right?

    Cyberpussy

I've been playing on PS4 too, it works SO good on controller. The only thing that annoys me is that Bethesda mentioned there'd be a "quick flip" option to quickly switch weapons by tapping R1 and using the stick in the direction of the weapon you wanna use to quickly gain access to it, but it wasn't really a feature, just quickly opening up the weapon wheel and then selecting it (still slowing down the time too) was basically what it amounted to... Other than that it flows very well on controller.

    Cyberpussy

Just played through it. He wasn't a challenge at all on Ultra Violence. The only attack of his that was worth worrying about was his "fire wave projectile" attack. Easy to kill him too. Just spammed the gauss canon over and over. Disappointed to say the least

    Shotty vs SSG

Doom 2 - Super shotty Doom 64 - Super Shotty Doom 3 - Supper Shotty Doom 4 - Combat Shotty In the old games the SSG felt more impactful than the normal shotgun but in Doom 4 the roles seem to have switched. So satisfying continuously firing that thing with that cool sound

    Reviews and Reviews in progress

It's not like anybody cares what IGN thinks anymore anyway. They're just a meme nowadays. Since they gave one of the Pokemon games a 6 because there was too much water in it nobody takes them seriously.

DOOM music tracks already ripped (and torn)

I just finished the BFG Division and that end battle is fucking brutal on Ultra Violent difficulty. The music is FUCKING RAD too. Seriously this game was worth the 8 year wait. I'm legit in love with it right now. This is everything I wanted from a new Doom game and more

    How flexible is this?

I played a map earlier that took away the player's ammo. Surely you could have it be limited ammo through integers and the take inventory commands?

    How flexible is this?

It is possible just tried it. The only limitation is that every time you switch loadouts ammo goes back up to maximum, I'm sure there's a workaround for that though. Uploading a video example in a second Edit: May or may not have it up within the next hour. Dunno yet

    How flexible is this?

I remember in the Snapmap livestream they said you could change what different buttons on a player's controller would do, maybe there's a way to assign a button to take away the player's current weapon and give them a new one? I'm not very experienced with Snapmap yet but I'll see if I can give it a go.

Questions for those who have the game

I only just got to hell last night and haven't played since, so I won't be able to fully answer these questions but I'll try 1. Out of the 5 levels I've played there've been 2 which have heavily relied on keycards for progression. You need two keycards to complete the level, I had classic Doom vibes there. There was exploration involved too. 2. Not encountered a baron yet 3. Oh yes, yes there are. And there a LOTS of them. 4. You seem to spend a lot more time on the Martian surface than you do inside the facilities from up to what I've played. Other than that and the "Void" areas the Rune challenges teleport you to I haven't seen anything else apart from labs, foundries, Martian surface and Hell

    1 Week to Doom 2016 !

Holy fuck Buckshot that video is the single greatest thing I've seen in my entire life.

    Marty Stratton vs John Carmack

Both. Carmack was innovative and wanted to bring something new to Doom but Stratton knows what makes the original games so good and is basing the new game around that. Then again it's important to remember decisions about the game weren't being made just by Stratton and Carmack. Seriously we need a Marty appreciation thread though. Boy's been looking stressed as fuck for the past few weeks and seems really passionate about Doom and like he's an all around cool dude.

    Which Trailer is Better

By "PS4 gameplay trailer" I assume you mean the campaign trailer? I voted for that one. It has a nice buildup and atmosphere in the beginning. The environment shots make it feel like shit has really gone down at this base. Seeing a pissed off doomguy violently scan the dead guy's eye gets you pumped as the music racks up, the revenant's noises tell you that shit's about to go down. I love how it cuts from the screaming revenant to the foundry battle with the doom 3 remix. The super shotgun mixed in with the tower of babel is awesome too, hearing E1M1 slowly come into play is radical. One of the best parts of the trailer is how it transitions from arena to arena with some nice editing work from the glory kills. Having doomguy die in the end is fantastic. Every other trailer pales in comparison

    Community Talent Thread

I'm definitely not a professional but I really enjoy video editing. Seeing something you've worked on finally come together is pretty awesome. Unfortunately I have nothing that Doomworld would take any interest in to post. I've made some private stuff with friends, and I also made a "movie" in the game Hitman Blood Money using a free cam mod and some basic editing. It's more of a hobby than a talent I think.

    Theory for new DOOM Story

Haha yeah not shitting on you mate, it's a cool idea actually. If there's a hell with Bible-ish looking demons (Baron of hell) then why can't there be a heaven?

    Theory for new DOOM Story

They were called MUTOs mate If you're gonna get into Goji watch the 1954 original movie first, then check out the 1984 "reboot". Make sure it's the Japanese versions. If you liked them then you should definitely check out the other Japanese movies. Stay away from the 1998 American movie though. I quite liked the 2014 though.

    Theory for new DOOM Story

I'm still very sure they're gonna make TNO canon and the UAC are actually space nazis... Don't forget about all the posters in TNO that mentioned Mars being the next place to go for the nazis. The Doom Slayer idea would fit right in with The Old Blood's supernatural stuff.
