Half-Life: Alyx - Valve flagship VR game

I don't have VR equipment and would rather sit on my ass and play a normal game instead, too gimmicky.....still want to see how it looks, someone should mod it and de-VR it if that's going to be possible heh, but that's just going to make it even less interesting.

Half-Life: Alyx - Valve flagship VR game

'least it'll give players reasons to check out new maps until they're eventually removed from the map pools, unless one of them ends up being very well received. it probably took them this long because dz.

Half-Life: Alyx - Valve flagship VR game

I don't have high hopes for this, though I admit I'm curious to see how or if they'll pull this off, most VR games I've seen seemed very experimental. I also wonder how long it's going to be, probably not longer than the first Portal. But hey, new csgo op, been a while since we had one of those. Now you can go back to grinding your way to a lame coin through a series of missions and maps that you will probably end up hating.

I'm also interested, I just want to know how replayable it is first.

    Ghostrunner Reveal Trailer

Looks like a cyberpunk-style mix of Dishonored and Mirror's Edge, looks fun https://store.steampowered.com/app/1139900/Ghostrunner/

Is Doom 64 a canon prequel to Doom 4?

That's cool, I wasn't aware of this. I appreciate it.

Is Doom 64 a canon prequel to Doom 4?

I bet it's getting re-released because there were a ton of comments on the Doom switch release trailer complaining about them including Doom 3 but not Doom 64. Though it could be well before that when they saw people were still interested in it and with all the 2016 references and reddit discussions, comparisons....etc
  10. There are of course other factors like having good knowledge of a map layout or a character's abilities and having sharp reflexes to know when to apply them but if you had to choose one of these which would you prefer.

Knowledge vs Reflexes/Skill in conquering games

Good points, I'll go with reflexes / skill because I like the feeling of outsmarting opponents and I find them perfect for short 1 sitting play. Not saying knowledge isn't important because it definitely is, as most games require some degree of knowledge to play and being more familiar with the game's maps and mechanics will certainly help give you an advantage. Grinding felt good initially, but became sort of dull as I had to constantly keep upgrading gear and getting new gear to face stronger enemies (eg: looter shooters) the excitement of getting new gear wore off and stronger enemies were basically just buffed versions of weaker enemies (most of the time anyways) eg: enemy level 115 was basically enemy level 15 with higher stats.

"Artificial Difficulty" in video games / Doom?

I tend to use it to refer to parts of games that are cheap / unfair and don't provide actual challenge (like crazy unpredictable cam shake that I have no control over) but to be honest I don't know if that's the right term to describe it. No opinion on Plutonia's difficulty personally.

    PS2 Discussion thread

I remember playing Downhill Domination a lot on PS2, as well as GoW2, pretty good games.

    Any paranormal experiences?

When I was younger I used to imagine piles of clothes in my room as monsters walking closer to me when the lights are turned off.

Which games are bad, but you like them?

Tomb Raider AOD It was so bad it killed core design, but it's bearable with fan-made patches and fixes.

Share a random fact about yourself

I can't stand pretentious snobs who go around trying to show off and acting like the world cares about their own preferences, "I like edgy and dark shit" "I don't like sex jokes" "I'm slightly older than you therefore better than you" then they act all surprised as though they're better when people don't share their opinions. Ugh who fucking cares. want to point this out but also don't want to look like an asshole. And great, look what I'm doing now, see what I mean. So far I found it best not to feed them and just ignore it whenever it happens, otherwise I'd give them the impression that I actually care, think that's also what everyone else is doing but it's still irritating.
