Hi VGA and@all,
thanks for your answer! It made me some nice research work. I think it is very usable "in future" to me, nice tips!
But here the feedback for today:
Found dwango.zip, just an executable in there, so I started the exe with dosbox. Mmmh: somehow a tool...(?)
Tried 1dwangol.zip too (wad in there). But whether chocolate-doom nor doom2 (dosbox) works with it :-(.
Found a video of level 1 on youtube: looks pretty much, what I'm looking for! :-)
Have still a version of DOOMIT, would work fine in dosbox. But I try to avoid the IPX configuration (DOOM2 in dosbox --> OS)
Fantastic tip, looks great (for the future)! But can't find LAN functionality (did I over read that?)
[/quote]So thanks for the great tips!
But I may have to explain further, what I'd like at the moment:
Chocolate-Doom is really running great, especially the LAN-function.
And thats all, what I want for the moment (without: kicking my kids a*s and frag and train them for an Internet game ;-) I have some great levels for Cooperative, but not for Deathmatch.
I had some im the 80/90s, got lost, damn.
Great Levels for deathmatch mean to me:
Small maps, mayby some nice places behind invisible walls, just levels, where you don't have to search 10 min to make a frag. Where you know, where the good weapons are located and run for them after respawn (or wait for the poor one who tries it in a hideout <FRAG>).
The video I wrote about (see above), is close to that.
(BTW, is here somewhere a Chocolate-Doom thread, couldn't find one.)
However, maybe somebody has a download link for a nice wad to try.
(The main issue here seems to be the formate, doom2.wad runs great. So a modified doom2.wad should work. Some other wads seems to be merged with original wads. Can't understand. I seem not to be able with the shareware version...guess here are a lot of people who have more experiences, than me with the new stuff. (Could help to play doom with a 486 PC and a coax net - forget about - does nobody need anymore.)
Thanks, Joe.
