  1. Thinking about asking DW if there are any of them still around these parts...working on a commercial game using a modified Quake 2 engine, a psychological third-person thriller/horror game...which has been a lot of fun so far. Hypertension treated me well and I have such a kick-ass team, but man, a Quake-engine mapper would be awesome, you know, to compliment my one other mapper. /randomblogentry

Oh, and wow, didn't know blogs were still here. Christ.

    Ooops.

Wait, Scourge now? What about Hypertension? It's weird to go around recruiting people when I have yet to see a single finished project from you after all these years. As far as I can see TDGMods is just a sinkhole of other's effort for your personal projects with no desire or focus to finish anything. No offense, but the proof is in the pudding so to speak.

I don't sit around idly if that's what you are implying - I work hard on this like the rest of the team, and if I could do it myself I would. Where does this implied laziness come from? Seriously, if you could clarify this I would be much obliged. Is it because I talk too much or something? No offense taken by the way.

Hypertension would have been complicated to release, given much was based on Blood - with the talk of Blood's revival from the author I got nervous. Hyper was nearly finished but I didn't want to risk getting in trouble over releasing it. This new project is both original and legal from the starting line. It's not that I started Hyper knowing I wouldn't finish it, no way.

When people say that it really gets to me, because I put a lot of effort even from the very beginning, and after all of that bullshit the project went through for 3 years you'd think that's what I want most is for it to be released already. I started my own source fork just for Hypertension...lots of hard work was poured into it. You've seen the screenshots and video, no? Watched it go from a fountain of question marks to something truly unlike Blood nor Doom? As much as I want to release it and be done with it, I legally cannot at this point. Someone asks me this question once every three or so months - as much as I paste it on our front page it always comes back, talk about frustrating! :-)

I've thought a spec or two about going back and redoing all of the Blood content more than a handful of times (didn't I mention that here?), but deterring myself or others from Scourge/etc. for this (personal?) project isn't exactly the definition of productivity, nor probably not worth the work. I did make mention that I started porting most of it over to Transfusion but I soon got tied up with other things, and it didn't go very far (but, the kicker is that it would have been legal).

If you still are not convinced, the best I can do is release a private installer from Hypertension through a PM. Fiend and myself worked hard on it and maybe that will shut some of you up, but given the nature of our current project and those involved, it will need to stay private.

No that's alright. I've seen the media, it looks cool. I just want to play a new shooter for me Dreamcast sometime this century. :P
