I always thought it was cool how The Flesh Consumed took Bible verses for the map titles.

A hyper intelligent spider...maybe a cybernetic quasi-arachnid with metallic legs and a big gun...a Mastermind behind the invasion, if you will. Then he sees you and is all, "Bitch, you can't handle Dis." But then you do handle dat.

You monster. Almost as if it were Hell...but on Earth.

Yeah, we only had 88% where I was at. This was my first solar eclipse that I was able to experience. I thought it would get significantly darker because in my mind, I was thinking, "Oh cool, only 12% of the light we would normal get with be present. Cool." Nope. If I hadn't known prior to the time of the eclipse that there was an eclipse going on, I would have just assumed there was extensive cloud cover.

Did some things that I am not proud of.

It was called Welcome To Hell. I tried to make it look more epic than it was (not). It starts off, long bridge over lava pools, teleport trap into a horse of Spectres in a dark wooded area maze of trees that you need to find the exit to, get teleported to the end of the broken bridge upon exit, marble ruins with a couple of hell knights. The map was reliant on brutal doom features like jumping, the design of the trees, and the design of the Spectre. So yeah...regrettable to say the least.

My map is coming along. It's actually done, aside from the texture issues you pointed out, Czechers. Going to start on Map07 this week. @CzechMate29200, when you fall off of those floating platforms, the floors should kill you, but they don't.

@dew, if you are able to, can you please lock this one up? It has proven to be, as you said, a redundant clone of the other thread.

Unfortunately, it seems as though people are just posting more random facts about themselves instead of actually surprising facts...with at least one very obvious exception. Can a mod just lock this thread? People don't seem to understand what surprising means.

My mother was pregnant during the infamous Plainfield, IL tornado of 1990. My father was living near that area at the time. He said that driving around after the storm was over was one of the more disturbing times in his life. He recall seeing a tree stripped of all of it's leaves with pigs from nearby farms impaled on the branches.

Camaraderie is an important part of life. I'm sure most of us have a group of friends who we see on a somewhat regular basis. What do you guys like to do? What are your friends like? How'd you guys meet? "B" - I met "B" fifteen years ago in our English class. We were both the odd ones in class. In the first week we were told to pair up with someone for a group project. Being a room of twelve year olds, everyone was very cliquey. "B" and I didn't have a clique. We were the weird kids that nobody wanted to pair up with. He was concerningly skinny, red hair, glasses, and a WWF hoodie. I was a shaggy haired, concerningly fat kid in glasses wearing a football jersey for a team I knew nothing about (I just thought jerseys would make me look cooler and earn me more friends). But when everyone else was paired up except us, we just looked at each other and I reluctantly said, "So uh...you wanna...?" And he goes, "Eh...yeah I guess we have to." We didn't even want to paired with each other. But throughout the project we learned that we went together like steak and beer. We had to define the word "ecstacy" and draw an accompanying picture. We drew a couple of stick figures high out of their minds and our definition was "The popping of pills for thrills." We both received a lunch detention and have been best friends ever since. He is a firefighter now and I am training to become a police officer. We share a passion for emergency response work and musicianship. I convinced him to buy a bass when we were in highschool and we have a similar taste in music. "A" - A fellow metalhead guitarist. He is the front man of a pretty popular Chicago area thrashmetal band and fellow hookah enthusiast. We met through a mutual friend and hit it off slowly at first, but the momentum built up into one of greatest friendships I have. He is a horror movie, dragon Ball z, and Pokemon junkie. While the latter two do nothing for me...we connect on the horror movies, hookah, and metal. We also share a very similar sense of humor and many political views. "D" - This was the first guy I met after I moved into my current home (an hour away from where I grew up with "B"). I went to a secondhand music/game/movie memorabilia shop with "B", and "D" was in there with his friends (my future group of friends). I was wearing a Pantera shirt and when we walked past them, "D" points and says, "I bet this guy knows about Pantallica." It was a reference to when Jason Newsted played bass during one of Pantera's sets and we all started talking music. "D" is a car enthusiast and a great mechanic. Whenever any of us have car trouble but don't want to fork up a ton of money, we take it to "D", and he figures out what the problem is and fixes it. He doesn't even charge us, either. He just has us buy the parts and we hang out, listen to music and crack open a few cold ones while he works on the car. Working on cars is his favorite hobby. Besides, he looks like Dimebag Darrell, so that's a plus. "M" - We met through his ex girlfriend. After they broke up, he and I remained friends as she vanished from both of our lives. He is a personal trainer (my trainer, a that), moved here from Poland at 16, and a fellow Doom enthusiast. I keep telling him to make an account here but he hasn't yet. We share horror movie interests and lift weights together twice a week. He is the guy who taught me about the diet I'm on. He is a beer enthusiast and likes to brew his own beer and meed that is unfathomably delicious. Whenever I go there, he always seems to have a new kind of beer for me to try from some brewery I've never heard of. The most recent kind he showed me was called Zombie Dust, and it is now my new favorite beer. He also enjoys going to various conventions, especially anime ones. He and I passionately disagree about anime. He is also a huge Alien and Rick and Morty fan, so we have that in common. "K" - "K" is a fellow shotgun enthusiast and passionate supporter of our second amendment rights. We have a similar taste in music and movies. We enjoy shooting clay birds at a local outdoor shotgun range or training with our sidearms at a local indoor range. We took our gun safety and concealed carry classes together. He is an incredibly scientifically minded individual. He is a biology major and he absolutely loves it. He is someone I can have a serious conversation about politics, ethics, or religion with or some guy I can make some of the most immature jokes with. He makes puns all the fucking time. He is probably the most intellectual person on this list. "L" - Last but not least, my amazing girlfriend. We are quickly approaching our third anniversary and I couldn't be happier with her. We are very different people but that balances us both out in great ways. I am a right leaning centrist and she is very liberal. I am into metal, she is into country. Her house is bilingual but mostly Spanish speaking, my house is not. I love horror films, she prefers chick flicks. She looks for the best in people to ignore the worst, I look for the worst in people to see if I can tolerate it before I attempt forming a friendship. I am blunt, she prefers to mitigate. Despite all of these differences, we are the first and last voices we hear almost every day. We met online and discovered we live only an hour apart, so we see each other plenty...but that couldn't stop a great bond from forming. I love her and her family, and they have accepted me as family...but I do stick out like a sore white thumb at their family parties, haha. I love learning Spanish whenever I am at their house and probably speak about as well as a native Spanish speaking two year old now. Haha, it will take time. Her mother is always eager to have me try new Mexican food that I have never heard of before (Tinga is my favorite!). I hope to have Spanish down enough to deliver my wedding vows in Spanish as well as English so her family can hear them, too. But that's going to be a surprise. She is so smart and motivated. She got her master's degree when she was 24 and is still pursuing further education. I am a lucky man, that is for sure! ---------- So what about you? Tell us about your inner circle.
