    Voodoo doll script + a lot of trigger numbers. All sectors are rebuild exactly in time between story 2 and story 1... or maybe silent teleport
  3. I just came back from a long work trip. I am a PLC programmer which means that I program machines/whole factories. I was programming a transport of materiál in a toast bakery. Unfortunately, I hadnt much time to make some tasty videos from that (but I hope I will do when I get there later - its not the total end).

    Anyway, the satisfaction of success (and nicest payday I ever had) and long pause of game development left me thinking of game programming as a blind road - as something that I tried and it failed. So I watched some vids of guys from Youtube and after that I watched mine.

    But what I seen left me in cocky grin. They really succeed with this?

    I was considering stopping, but NO WAY! I am talented mofo, so much better than them. Actually, I would be crazy IF I STOPPED. I already have a cool game. Maybe its has not that shining sparkling coat, but name me somebody else who has decent non-linear levels with 150+ enemies?

    (yes I am bit drunk but translate this as: I was long time off, but I am back)

    @loveless I noted mentioned issues, thanks. Map3 textures will be fixed. But even through I am playing hard maps on Zdoom, I cant play a shit in PrBoom (even easy maps!). I always give it a chance, but I always ragequit that shit after few mins. It just doesnt feel right. The movement, the damage. Hits that are supposed to hit, are missing, and so. By "tested" I actually meant "IDDQDd through to make a check that it works". Btw, map3 and map4 are supposed to be unplayable. It is a new style of maps, that are meant to be only TASed. I consider it a surprise that there is a way to do them at least in Zdoom. Do you play on skill 1? For sure you must save all plasma for the final fight in map3, but I dont know the next step :D

    It is good but short. I did it quickly cause those are non-violent type of map that doesnt block your way forward when there is big fight. Also, there are some nice textures worth stealing.

    How you done such big resolution of lightmap? I have 4096x4096 lightmap and its little for me. I guess I am missing something important...

    @Solarn a) First room teleporting doesnt happen in order of minutes in Zdoom. Can be caused by PrBoom compatibility shit with conveyor belts. I need to look at it, cause the closets are supposed to open in faster pace, like 30s after each other. My mistake. b) I am glad you like the second room, but in my opinion its the weakest place. Brings no new architecture, and also you can skip the battle by run through enemies right to yellow corridor (and do the same after return with yellow key) c) Yellow key room is suppossed to be the cherry on the top. Nicest detail and easier gameplay. Its a reward after fights before :D d) Nodebuilder errors arent in my competence so fuck them e) Thanks for detailed review and I hope you will play also the next maps. The first one was best, others are just speedmaps but nice. Please let me know how the other maps went ;-)

    What do you think about ID Software early days?

    Well they piss me off with the fact that people follow them cause of context of awesomeness they have build around themselves, not their programming skills. If they remained guys from basement who just make their games, nobody would care. Maybe there is still a gap to get their success, but not in game development. You would have to do something innovative, cause they were at the time...

      So, how likely do you think is it to beat your entire map saveless? Because that's what actually matters. Brute forcing through a map by way of save/load is borderlining TAS, in some sense. So, unless you beat that map saveless, non-TAS, you didn't rellay make a point, I'd say.

    What do you think about ID Software early days?

    Many things to say about it. I wanted to develop games long time, but never finished anything. Then I have read Masters of Doom and since that I copied their good traits into myself and now I have already 2 finished games out, working on 3rd :). That book is like a cocaine if you are a programmer.

    I turned on Quake3 recently for comparison and i am disapointed how many effects it already had in 99. It will be hard to beat its looks, but with my recently gained knowledge of stencil buffer, fbos, and version 3 opengl and glsl I could do it.
