Hi All! It's been a long time since I've posted a map. Recently I started working on a new Megawad (as if that's ever worked out for me) and this is one of the maps I've completed so far. The map is called Abhor and as of now it's going to take the MAP29 slot. Anyway, it's Boom Compatible and I have tested it in PrBoom+ almost exclusively. The idea for my megawad is to create maps that have that 90's feel. Slightly abstract, but not ugly. My main inspirations are Doom's E4, Plutonia, Scythe, etc.. That brings us to this map. Abhor is dark and cramped in the beginning, and it's meant to test your patience a little bit. I built the map to test my skills as an average Doomer but if it's kicking your ass on UV try HMP. Hey thanks for playing! I'm glad that you enjoyed it a little more than the first time, I knew you'd get the map after seeing some of the bullshit. I like the feeling of running around low on health and ammo, so that's way the supplies are low and secrets help a ton. It did suck that you didn't save rockets for the imp and archville ambush, maybe I'll stick some rockets in the secret staircase :)

Hey thanks for playing! The point of the map is to be a challenge. There is ammo starvation and minimal health pickups to make every move you make more deliberate. Did you try HMP? I designed UV to be tough as nails but HMP should be a more fair fight. And on Easy the sniping archville isn't even there. -

I love the feedback! Thanks a lot, it was an hour and I didn't bother balancing after that, I stated it was harder than intended on UV in a previous post. RedBoule actually tackled my map first and he had no problem with the difficulty (I personally agree with you that it's hard). However, I will say that the opening is not RNG I have never died to the shotgunners, you just have to be quick :) thanks again! -

UGH! Water Blitz kicked my ass, a little more open than I would have preferred. I recorded a UV demo where I gave in after a few tries Water Blitz Demo.zip I will go back and beat it on HMP! EDIT: Here is my HMP demo, I beat it. But I gotta say I think this level is too hard, even on HMP. The rules for this says to make it beatable for an average doom player. Here is my contribution: TheReactor.zip It took exactly one hour to the minute to finish. It made me realize how slow I am at mapping lmao. Forgive the horrendous texturing! It's a little harder than I intended, if you don't want a hard time play on HMP. I will add a demo of me playing Water Blitz asap! -

Just played MAP01 of MSCP on UV. Good stuff for slaughter. I found 0 secrets and killed the last Mancubus with my last bullet. Fun little map! EDIT: I must have died 60 times on MAP02 before I rage quit. Looks like I'm switching to HMP -
In just over a month, me and my friend are going to speedrun race a wad called "The Darkening". Neither of us have ever done speedrunning before but we always wanted to. We figured we aren't good enough to compete with you pros so we decided to pick a wad and compete against each other. We are going to stream this race and if people like it we will probably do other wads.

I haven't done any mapping in a long time so recently I decided to do some speed maps in my free time. Well today I decided to create MAP30, and I tried to make it HARD. Basically I wanted MAP30 to feel like a last level, unlike Doom 1 & 2 & Sigil's disappointing endings. So anyway I would love feedback or demos, I made this in 3 hours and I think it plays well :) Difficulties are there, I would try UV first but I personally kept dying so if you suck like me do HMP. Also it uses Boom capability. You need to load both WADS that I uploaded in the .zip Descent.zip

Thanks for playing! Just watching how you tackled the map gave me a good amount of feedback, I've worked on two other "hard" maps since that and it helps learning how other people play Doom. -

That was unintended, I'll make sure I fix that as well as chuck more monsters in. I'm glad you found it easy, that means you're way better than me haha Honestly I thought the difficulty came from the small encounters but maybe I will have to change the pacing a tad. -
So I'm trying to start out as a musician writing music for video games. As I was practicing one day I found a cat synth online. So naturally I released an album based on cats. The album is called Cats Stuck In Space. Basically imagine it as background music for some retro cat space shooter, or whatever. Anyway I would LOVE to get feedback from people that don't know me IRL, and I'm not asking that you buy my music (although I wouldn't mind :P) but I am asking that if you know any devs that need a musician... call me

Hey Brad, I don't know if anyone else has said this but Doom Retro lags a little bit for me. Not as in frame drop but as in input lag. It never used to happen when I mained Doom Retro 2 years ago, but I swear it almost feels like I have V-Sync enabled. It is most noticeable for the mouse but the controls lag a tad too.
