    Earth On Hell Project

    Okay, some of you may know that I am making a Doom II WAD called Earth On Hell and I would like 2 or 3 mappers to create one or two maps each to help me add diversity. I have finished 3 maps completely and have started on my fourth but I'm planning to have somewhere around 10-12 in the end. BTW you don't need to be a mapping god to make a map for this WAD as I still consider myself average at the process, so it's not like this WAD is going to be 100% perfect. The rules are simple: -It has to be compatible with non limit removing ports such as Chocolate Doom -The levels should be medium length but I will accept shorter maps (5-15 mins) -Make the map with Co-Op in mind, aka put down player starts and make sure there is enough room for more than one person -You don't need any particular theme but keep the theme you choose consistent in your map -I'm going to place your map in a slot that compliments it's difficulty, so make the map as hard or easy as you want -Keep monsters under 250, unless you really need more -You can use custom textures but don't go overboard -Have fun, if you lose interest just PM me and I will finish your map Here are some screenshots of my finished maps: EDIT: I also forgot to mention that I am writing a custom MIDI for every single map, however if you want to write one for your own map (or just have a custom MIDI you want to use) tell me and I won't write a song for your level.

    There are no spaces left in The Ultimate Doom In Name Only. And the last space was filled in Joe-Ilya's right? I also have never mapped in Heretic/Hexen before so I don't think I could contribute a very good map to that project. If there is anything I'm missing I would gladly join though.

    Do you mean IDCLEV? I might be wrong but I don't think IDCLIP changes levels And I think I'll just include a dummy level at the end so compatibility isn't an issue :)

    The only reason I want to make bats is because it feels like a chore to me and I'd like to alleviate the torture of painstakingly typing a batch file just to play my maps haha.

    Thanks a lot scifista42, I have not experimented with PrBoom or Boom yet and that was going to be my next question. I was going to setup mapinfo for (g)zdoom and zandronum to start on a later map and use a bat for chocolate doom but then I was wondering what I have to do for the other ports. I'm assuming it is something similar to how you do it in chocolate doom, am I correct? Edit: If compatibility is a big issue I will just setup anew end map after my last real one though.. Wow I was researching source ports and I thought Boom and Prboom were completely different things haha

    I just want to make sure no one gets misinformed because I have had people give me suggestions and it was obvious they didn't read my OP. Sometimes I am bad at articulating what I mean in text though so it could be a problem on my end haha Edit: I also didn't know what jmickle666 meant by end map, I thought be meant a map that ended the game until people started suggesting dummy end maps with no exit

    That's not what I meant... I was talking about the format not the editor. He might think I was using Doom (Doom in Hexen Format) in which I'm pretty sure you can make a switch end game.

    Include an ending map? Is there a way to make a switch that ends the game instead of exiting theven level? Remember I am using Doom Builder in Doom II format.

    Just wanna let you know I love this mod a ton, my friends don'the really like old video games but I make them play with me sometimes and I was wondering if this mod was possible to play online with GZDoom. Over LAN of course. I know you said it doesn't work with Zandronum and I was wondering if that was because of the source port or because it doesn't work online. Thanks a lot for giving us this work of art haha

    No offense but dehealth bonus sounds really bad. But I love the armor piece idea and the reflect projectile one. BTW Quad Damage sounds awesome. But we need to add gibs to bigger monsters if we ever decide to make it Haha.

    Thanks for all the help DefSan! I found the stupid fucking problem.... I had an old version of Chocolate Doom! That was the problem, I downloaded the latest version and it played although it was quiet as you mentioned

    Are you serious? How are you getting this to work? I turned up my speakers and the music volume and I still don't hear the music... It works when I use ZDoom and everything. Do I have to -merge my wad in the bat file for chocolate doom?

    I'm using XWE do you think that is the problem? Also did you keep it as a midi or change it to MUS? BTW: That song was amazing haha EDIT: What MIDI software are you using? I tried using Slade to import and again the music did not play, I also changed the pitch to normal.

    Sorry I must have said something badly because I never mentioned compatibility with Doom95, I meant that is where I got my Doom WAD from, the 95 CD. I want the MIDI to work with Chocolate Doom and it won't play my MIDI. Then I realized that I was using chords in my song so I wrote a simple one and tried it. I named it D_RUNNIN and when I started the game it didn't crash but no music played. What am I doing wrong?     If you looked up a few posts you would see I'm using Chocolate Doom. I was just asking if the Doom95 WAD was different because that is where I got my WAD from all those years ago

    So is the Doom95 WAD different from the DOS doom WAD? Or is my problem because drums are on channel 10? I'll be home in like an hour so I'll try different combinations of stuff

    Well, I have Doom95... so it says it doesn't play Midis... but to convert to Mus I have to move my drums to channel nine it looks like. I also need to remove chords in my other song.
