Today's progress: took about 1/3 of the day to implement the kicks, chokes, and shoves.

I spent the rest of the day trying to fix the sounds 🤢

okay so here is some proof-of-concept stuffs. im starting with mage, then probably going on to fighter, then cleric. anyway these were all supposed to be gifs but im #Lazy

OKAY so player will start with ice shards then move on to ice knives and eventually hurl planets. I mean that's metal af :D

I found a few sprites courtesy of Ettingrinder's webpage that ill use with credit and yeah. that's it for now...

p.s as previously stated this is all proof of concept stuff and all media is presented here is subject to change.

Started work on re: hexen this morning. I've decided to give it a lot of dungeons and dragons style elements(since that's what hexen is based after) and so far, picking elements is going pretty well! Will let you guys know when I have an update :) 

Good morning doom world! Today I'll be starting a new mod called re: hexen. It's a quality of life mod that will add some weapons, monsters, and graphical touchups but most importantly will change some of the combat so that it flows smoother. I'll be doing this on my Linux system so it may be a slow start but it is happening! 

Hey hey. So I've ordered basically a new computer online from filling out surveys(not an ad or whatever) the new computer won't be great but should hold its own and be able to do some good things. For those interested here is the new specs:

Intel i3 processor 

4 gb ram

128 gb hdd

Nvidia nvs 300 

I'll upgrade the ram and Hdd as soon as I can but all parts are shipping right now, and hopefully I'll have it together soon. 

In the meantime I've been working on getting Linux working on a older system (pain in the ass to do, BTW) but damn small linux seems to do the trick well. 

For those curious here are THOSE specs:

40 gb hdd

250 mb ram

Older, yes but if Linux runs on it i can do some slade editing, and that would be Nice. 🤗

Hey doom world. Just wanted to wish you a merry Christmas. Thank you guys for all the support you have given me through the year. It's been something that helps keep me going.

So lately doom has been a little lack-luster for me. So, I'm looking up hexen mods. Let me know if you have any good mods I should try! I tend to favor game play enhancers, tho. 

Here's what I'm trying now:

Hexersize (very cool) 

I have tried brutal hexen but I wanna play as a awesome mage, and so far not only does B.H not have that class but no mod improves? It a lot. Hexersize is decent at it but doesn't have that extra oomph imo. No disrespect intended! Its a great mod

so i just spent 5 hours drawing this. god no wonder I start slowly.

Today's update: spent a good five hours debugging, and want to do more but am hunger 

Anyway next thing on the chopping block is sounds, followed by polish. After that I'll make some maps for it and probably release it. It's not great, but not crap. It just is. Which is something I'm trying to hold on to. 

To let go of ideas of perfection and focus on done. At least for now. 

LIFE STUFF:

hey guys just thought I would share an update. basically my uncle bought me a discount computer and ive been fighting to get Linux on it. (AMD 1600x+256 MB ram+Integrated graphics for any1 interested)

long story short I swapped out the guts and now I think it may have been the cd-rom drive..

GAME STUFF:

im working steady on my mod, and special thanks once again to @mengo for their help, in this case the weapon spawns were not correct and needed to be fixed. ive also added the rest of the classes and am thinking of giving custom weapons. I got an idea for a bone-like chain gun for quake guy(replacing the super nailgun) in any case I took a lot of time to optimize the code an d make sure everything was understandable by me, which im honestly super proud of.

LESS RELATED GAMESTUFF:

Slade3 has an excellent map editor, which my cousin had to show me where it was bc I could not find it, and it beats eureka by a hot mile, for the most part. (not that eureka is bad, but it kept crashing on me >:/  )

im sure there'smore but I cant remember right now *shrugs*

Most of the basic stuff is done. It only took three days this time. Unbelievable. Anyway I still wanna do some maps, along with sounds and booms. 

It was inevitable... one false step... one wrong move would prove fatal... It wasn't supposed to end like this... I was the good guy... I was.... I was.... 

Henlo doom world :) I've been going to see the Dr and I'm in a much better place, mentally. I've relaunched my efforts to make a mod!!! I have some ideas and I'll run them by yall. Ones that get likes I'll start on.

I've been busy modifying stuff so I can play certain games easier. As you know I have a pentium 4 cpu with a graphical card from 1999. That or course makes playing anything modern in gz doom hard. But worry not! For I have old mods I used to love and am trying to improve them now :) I'll let yall know but a good mod is coming I think. If nothing else it can be learning experience. That's all for now! Next update is regarding the mod!

Actually I can't seem to remember what was so damn important about this.specific mod anyway.  So I may just change everything but the title

I'm working on surrender the dead but I don't like the plot.  And plot is important because it tells you where the maps go, what type of monsters and wepons, etc.
Anyway might just sprite some cool stuff and see where that goes

For almost 3 days I've been trying to install windows 7 on another machine. And for almost 3 days I've been helping my dad tear up his living room floor.

Got the drivers installed but it still won't boot doom builder without bluescreening.

For extra fun it won't boot krita, or flaming llama for that matter. 

I'm reasonably sure this is due to a lack of sse2, but do I really have to make sprites with mspain? Cmon, man...

Got the pc back up and activated, right now I'm trying to get the drivers. 

For bonus points this time it refuses to read my wired connection so I'm stuck with Wi-Fi. 

My pc gave up the ghost for no apparent reason. 

God I wanna give up so badly. 

Like I've been doing this for almost three months now . I just want to make stuff, please.
