There's also this British bloke who plays Doom with certain mods a lot. You might not have heard of him, and he's currently on a long hiatus, but he's working hard on a project for an eventual return: https://www.youtube.com/c/HexaDoom (I figured I'd throw in a shameless plug since the other "DoomTubers" I know personally have made it onto the list :P) -

The Grand Cathedral from Serious Sam: The Second Encounter I might be a bit late on this, but I occasionally check back on this thread and noticed this post. It's always worth trying an app like Shazam if it's not a MIDI! -
This is only a minor sprite detail, but after all my years of playing, watching and editing this game, I only just recently noticed that the zombieman and shotgun guy both grab their torso with their right hand as they fall in their death animations. To me it always looked like they lie on the ground with both arms down, so it's a neat little detail that I honestly never spotted before.

Another old-school mapper has sadly left us. I played through the Master Levels back in March and April, and I still remember his work fondly alongside the late Jim Flynn who passed before him. May his legacy continue to entertain players and be immortalised in a Doom mapping hall of fame.
-
I may be a little late to this topic, but I just found out that Jim had passed away and I wanted to pay my respects here. It's actually a strange coincidence that this was announced on the day I began a playthrough of the Master Levels, and I've mentioned his name quite a bit during the last week or so without even knowing this had happened. I believe his Titan maps were among the best of the Master Levels, and I'll certainly be playing Eternal Doom in the future with him in mind. RIP Jim Flynn, another legend of early Doom mapping sadly lost.

Thank you both very much, I can't believe I got these answers so soon! Firstly, I noticed that the single map of "BLOOD.WAD" was selected as part of Heroes 2, but as Map 14 and strangely not the same map as where the music from the WAD is used. Secondly, I had a feeling there would be more Final Fantasy tracks to appear as answers, but I haven't had the time to flick through all the soundtrack of each game :P and thanks for the heads-up on the soundfont, I had absolutely no idea and I always thought it was completely fine. Now there's just one single piece of music left in this entire megaWAD to identify, and rather ironically on the map titled "Mystery". I hope I manage to get this last one! -

My quest to find all the music used in Epic 2 is almost complete, but there are still three songs left to find out! Just a quick update because I have had some answers since last time I posted this. Map 09: http://puu.sh/p3BUz/f7a416abfa.ogg Map 20: http://puu.sh/tcdgI/d2b186a141.ogg Map 25: http://puu.sh/p3C12/edb3414fbb.ogg If it helps at all, the music for map 25 was also used in map 08 of the WAD "Heroes 2". I hope I can get these last few tracks someday! -

Thanks so much, I knew it was worth checking back here every so often! :D I had a feeling that some of these may be songs from Final Fantasy games, but I've never really played any of the franchise and there's a lot to go through. :P -

Thank you! Much appreciated :D I'll add it to the Doom Wiki page. I noticed that Map 15 has since been filled in there, so that's also great! I bet one or two more of these tracks are from a Final Fantasy game, but I wouldn't know and it would take forever to go through every game's soundtrack. I'd still love to find out any more of these, and I'm hoping to get some more answers. I've decided to share links for the remaining songs to make it easier and more direct to have a listen for yourselves: Map 03: http://puu.sh/p3BTp/3feca7c70a.ogg Map 09: http://puu.sh/p3BUz/f7a416abfa.ogg Map 20: http://puu.sh/p3BZH/eb9fcef474.ogg Map 25: http://puu.sh/p3C12/edb3414fbb.ogg Map 30: http://puu.sh/p3CiX/2f9b6746fe.ogg Map 32: http://puu.sh/p3Ckx/96c95e21ff.ogg I hope this helps! :) -
"I don't think I know what a floppy disk is! Are they the things that, um, they're kinda like square-looking and they look like the save button on the computer?" I sure hope that girl isn't studying IT.

Thanks, it does work but it doesn't really give me any answers to the song's origin other than "copyright BUHS 2001" and that it's a Russian game, from what I've searched. I still could have just taken the MIDI file from Slade, so it's no big deal that the webpage didn't work for me. I was hoping to get some answers about the other tracks really :P -
Wow, past me, what a noob. :P A better confession for me now in the present day would be that I only grew up with PSX Doom, and while I had a Nintendo 64 and played it as much as my PSX, I never had (or ever played) Doom 64. I also never played the original PC Doom until about 2012 when I started playing an online demo version of the game >_< though I do play in multiplayer servers all the time these days, and aside from the TC I haven't played PSX Doom in a very long time now...but it still remains my favourite.

Hey, guys. I've been following this thread for a long time and discovered some cool music as well as some answers, but I still have certain tunes that I can't find the origins of, and I hope someone here can help. One of my favourite megaWADs, Epic 2 - https://www.doomworld.com/idgames/levels/doom2/megawads/epic2 - has a few songs of which I'd love to know, and while the Doom Wiki has a page on this WAD, there is no information on the music for these particular maps: Map 03 - Black Magic Map 09 - Mystery Map 15 - Astral Base Map 20 - Anomaly Zone Map 23 - Oasis Map 25 - Per Nefer (I'm sure this one must be from an Aladdin game or something similar, lol) Map 28 - Ogdoad (the Wiki says it's "Alice - The Unbegotten Dreams" but I scoured Google and found nothing but this page with the MIDI - http://www.midi-karaoke.info/211ece39.html - and I can't even download the file) Map 30 - Amenthes Map 32 - The Harbour (sounds like something more Oriental than Egyptian) Additionally, I know someone mentioned NeoDoom here already and I am aware that Daniel wrote the original music himself, but there's a WAD called "neodoommapsv2" and it has an entirely new list of music replacing Daniel's tracks - http://static.best-ever.org/wads/neodoommapsv2.wad I think these new songs are awesome but I could not identify a single one. Are these also all original songs or can you help me find any of them? Thanks in advance. :P -
