Okay, I replaced the first attempt with an updated version. I went with thunder instead of Seashore, I felt like the SC-55 seashore wasn't sufficiently low-pitched compared to the Windows MIDI version and the thunder is a lot more satisfying. Hopefully you agree. And thank you Gez, for the extremely nice compliment!

I'm looking into that right now, it seemed strange that there was 10 seconds of silence in front of the track. What patch is supposed to be on MIDI channels 16, 12, 2 and 13? I see you're sending a bank select message of 15490, which the Roland doesn't recognize and is apparently not playing correctly. Any help would be appreciated so I can get it fixed and sounding better :)

Sorry to be slightly off topic: If you can't get enough of the TNT:R soundtrack, I've got some good news! I've just uploaded a "Let's Listen" playlist recorded from my vintage (oh man, am I really that old?) 1995 Roland XP-10. It's a keyboard that has the same basic ROM as the SC-55. I had to do a few takes on certain songs, as the XP-10 has a 28 voice polyphony limit and some of the music FAR exceeds that. Enjoy :) https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLVDYINVKng7Vb49GOlI_ozddKdZR3a9lc

Just wanted to say thank you, and that I'm honored that you chose to do a remix of one of my songs! In my earlier experiences with Doom music on Icarus and Osiris, song titles were never listed in the wadinfo.txt so for Requiem I just used working filenames, never thinking that anyone would care. Technically the song from MAP15 in Requiem is "REQ-JD01" but I also refer to it as "Last Resort" now as well. It's funny, because another of my contributions to TNT:R (MUS23) was intended for Requiem, but never finished past the 1:00 mark. So in a way, I too feel like it's come full-circle :)

Dude, I have no words. I can't thank those who have said kind words about my music enough. When Jaws contacted me about contributing to this project I didn't even need to think about it. I hadn't worked with GM in probably 17 years but it's been really fun revisiting some of the ideas I'd started back then. I have to apologize in advance for MAP11's music, I didn't find out until last night that it was being used at all, so it's totally incomplete in this beta.

Actor John Hurt Dies at 77

Very saddened to hear of John Hurt's passing. He was in so many great movies over the years, from Alien to V for Vendetta. One of my favorite things he was involved in:

Who composed which midis in Icarus?

Very happy to help, it's been a lot of fun revisiting the music from Icarus after so many years. The music from Requiem, MM and MM2 are all really well documented on doomwiki.org. Evilution is less so, it's a shame TeamTNT was't better at crediting individual composers. I'll try contacting Jonathan and see if he can confirm which tracks are his from Icarus and possibly Evilution.

Who composed which midis in Icarus?

I'll be damned T-Rex, you're absolutely correct. Here's the full version: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B79YBwbj0yrTQXpGLW1raHBxSXM I'll have to re-record the SC-55 version that's on my YouTube playlist. I love Valkiriforce's Let's Listen videos, but the Star Theme patch used in that video kind of makes me cringe!

Who composed which midis in Icarus?

Here are copies of the original MIDI files: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B79YBwbj0yrTSG0zNWVjdW1lWDQ The titles on the wiki are all correct. I'm embarrassed to say I can't find the original MIDI file for MAP29, but I'm certain I wrote it. It was the only music I wrote specifically for the level, since I was friends with Mike Ruete IRL. I'd made MIDIs for a few of his earlier maps and when he got into TeamTNT he recommended that I join as well.

Who composed which midis in Icarus?

I can state with 99% certainty that Charles Li wrote the music for: MAP09: The Moat MAP20: WarTemple I had met Charles early in 1994 if I remember correctly, when we both used to upload MIDI songs to the AOL Music and Sound file area. I liked one of his songs and contacted him and asked if he wanted to collaborate on a tune, which we did. When I got involved in writing music for Icarus, I asked Chuck if he wanted to contribute as well, and those two songs were the result. I'm pretty sure he never even played Doom. The MIDIs are very similar to one of his other songs I have saved on an old backup CD, which I could find if anyone is interested. I don't believe Brian Kidby wrote any music for Icarus. He acted as coordinator, matching MIDIs with maps and making sure each song was in it's finished state before release. He also came up with the concept of having a reoccurring musical theme in Icarus, which I composed- I submitted an idea and he liked it so we went with it. The remaining music can probably safely be attributed to Jonathan El-Bizri. I know for certain that he did MAP19: Blessed are the Quick and MAP22: Nightfall, they made an impression as I'd never heard classical music in Doom before. I'm also not certain who did the intermission music, it may have been Jonathan as well. Someone could easily contact him, he's got a blog (http://www.elbizri.com/) a github and a twitter account.

    Battlefield 2

I used to love the Desert Combat mod for BF1942. Learning how to fly the helicopters was really rewarding, and taking up a fully-crewed AC-130 gunship was a blast. I know that DICE bought the developer of DC to help make BF2, but I feel like they missed some of the fun aspects of DC.

TNT Revilution: Final release now on ID Games!

The rest of the midis I posted were unfinished ideas, so none of them would be usable at this point. Also, as was pointed out: I had a brainfart when I named one of my songs "Transduction". As that's the name of Map12, it makes no sense to share the name. It should go back to it's original (unoriginal) name "REQ-JD10" to avoid confusion. Sorry!

    THT: Threnody - released!

Hi everyone. I've just put together a remix of the music from Map03 in Icarus, Quarry. I thought it might be a fitting tribute as that was one of Ty's maps. Please feel free to use it. https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B79YBwbj0yrTczR3bzR0VXRwTlU

[quote="dobu gabu maru" post="1620646"] ^ Heh, kinda silly to have a midi named "Transduction" not assigned to the map named "Transduction". Ah, my mistake the word must have stuck in my mind. That wouldn't make sense at all.

Thank you! I'd been slacking and hadn't really worked on it, but here's the finished version of REQ-JD10.MID, renamed "Transduction". The first part was a work in progress for Requiem that never got finished. Hope it works for your map 23! https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B79YBwbj0yrTaFFyUGZkNU9vemc

TNT Revilution: Final release now on ID Games!

Thank you! I'm really happy you'll be using it, especially considering what an Osiris fan you are. I haven't really released much music on my own since the late 90's, mostly I've played in rock bands. The stuff I have done has maybe some ambient and industrial influences, but I definitely wouldn't classify it as such.

That's really strange, there's no midi data after 4:38. I'll get it fixed and re-upload it ASAP. Thanks for the feedback! Update: This should be fixed and looping smoothly now. https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B79YBwbj0yrTeVhwUV9DQmpEcWM

    Old Doom music

Hello everyone! A long time ago I wrote a bunch of music for a few Doom wads: Icarus , Osiris and Requiem. I then went off to music school, flunked out, got a job... etc. I've always looked back on my Doom music writing years as one of the most creative spots in my life. Recently I was amazed to discover a number of remakes and covers on YouTube and I figured I'd upload some of the tunes using the old synth I wrote them on. Maybe they'll be interesting to someone, who knows? :) I'm also thinking about re-working a few of the songs using more up to date sounds. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCRfeVFHC5QEXWn9Q_Ze_1fA/playlists Hope you enjoy, Jeremy

    Old Doom music

Hey folks, just an update. I've uploaded remixed versions of my three songs from Requiem to Youtube. I even managed to add some real guitar to Last Resort (which is why it sounds so sloppy ;) I'm also working on giving my Icarus songs the same treatment. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4uUZAv_Y8DE&list=PLVDYINVKng7XyOP_1U82Y3rKDVwH-fFY4
