  1. Wondering if there is a way to get custom sprites and textures into a WIP vanilla wad...

      When I try to change the player and wolfenstein nazi sprites, Chocolate Doom crashes with the error message: "R_ProjectSprite: invalid sprite frame 3:0".


      I heard that you either have to change EVERY single sprite and texture or use Deutex, and I haven't eard nice things about it.

      You do have to change every single sprite in the WAD if you want it to work. Look at BTSX. This doesn't apply to textures though, you can do whatever you want with it.


      Deutex has a command line interface, so it may not be the best for you. It's useful for managing large WADs. Even better (if you ask me) it automatically adds the correct markers and converts to Doom format where needed.


      Since you're talking about Chocolate Doom, using -merge alongside your WAD won't require you to change every single sprite.


      As for the error message, my knowledge on the source code is too low to explain it :/
