    Someone To Help With WAD Editing?

    So I have an odd idea, I may get heat for asking it... Basically, I build maps. I love doing all the level design, all the aesthetics, and all the thing placement. I also compose music. I write my own midi tracks for my maps (i'm a musician). Having a fully loaded life (Full-time job, full-time girlfriend, ect...), it's hard enough to find time to create a full length map that has perfect balance, of gameplay/challenge, good architecture/texture use, and good replay value. Basically what I'm getting at is this...is there anyone willing to team up with anything. I'm mostly talking about WAD editing. Using Slade just doesn't interest me. It's a whole new animal to tame, and I just don't have the time. Basically I need someone who would maybe be willing to do the following.... 1) Combine all my texture resources (i'm using 4) into one texture pack 2) Edit title art and text 3) edit midi tracks into my maps 4) May even help with level ideas/megawad?

    Sounds good man, thanks! Mind going into detail exactly how you just add textures you want using that method? btw, this map is a just a single map 01, but very challenging, and is only utilizing ultra violence difficulty, I'd love for you to check it out, or anyone for that matter! It seems to be such an impossible effort to get people to even try my maps and give me feedback because I use four resources lol

    Using multiple resources in your map?

    I'm wondering if/why it's taboo to have multiple resources used in your map building? I'm working on a 6 map project utilizing four different resources for texturing...map 01 is already done and I'm very happy with the turn out...I'm not going to change my mind about all of the resources used, but I know it's a pain to load up four resources for a wad...I guess I'm wondering if I should keep it how it is? Or is there a way to combine them all together in one resource pack?

    Using XWE or Slade? Which is Better?

    I've been dabbling with building maps for a good 5 months now, but I haven't really done any WAD editing..There's not many tutorials online that are useful.. I have XWE but whenever I have tried to use it in the past, it screws my sourceport up, so I'm too scared to mess with it anymore... Are there any good tutorials in using slade or XWE? I'm a musician so I'd love ot make custom midi tracks for my maps, so any help would be much apreciated

    Weird midi issues in GZDOOM

    So I posted yesterday in regards to needing help with adding custom music to my maps. I got that to work, but I found that some of my tracks speed up and slow down at random! It sounds horrible! I tried using the different plugins that GZDOOM has to offer, and tried changing settings but nothing worked...has anyone had this problem and/or has a solution for this?

    Adding Custom Music Using Slade!!

    Now pretend for a second (not really pretend cause it's kind of true) that your replying to an absolute idiot...I know NOTHING about WAD editing, and actually I don't know too much about anything that has to do with WADS in general... I can't find a decent tutorial on how to add custom music to my maps..So is there ANYONE who can explain it step by step or lead me to a video that teaches step by step on how to do this? Every video I watch is either some kid that is horrible at teaching and speaking in general, or someone who uses all this jargon that I don't understand...I just need a beginners walkthrough... I understand the general idea..adding the midi file (or whatever it may be) and renaming it as the as original song name (for instance, D_runnin for Map01 in doom 2)...but I can't figure out how to actually do it.. Please help, I'm sorry for my noobish posts, but I'm really psyched about some tracks that I've wrote to go with the maps I've created and maps that are in the process of being created.. If you reply, please note that I am DUMB when it comes to this stuff (at least for the moment I am, I can learn).. Thanks!

    Using XWE or Slade? Which is Better?

    I know they aren't for midi creation but they are for integrating my midi...I use Guitar Pro personally...But thank you, is Slade free for download? If not, how much does it typically cost?

    New Map; need feedback?

    Well it is supposed to be part of a megawad, so the ammo and health is actually almost perfectly balanced in that way, considering you will have some leftover ammo and armor from the previous map, if all goes well....I should post my 6 map megawad(what I have of the megawad so far) so it is easier to play, but I don't want my maps to be very easy from pistol start...as for the pits, I do need to fix those, and I did specify the 3 wads needed to see all of the textures....thanks for the feedback man! =)

    I'm sorry, like I said, totally new to this lol GZdoom is the sourceport, and it should be run through Doom 2 As far as the map itself, I would say its a small-medium sized map, very difficult from pistol start ( it will be part of a MEGAWAD) and the only difficulty currently integrated is Ultra-Violence... I probably should of added all of this info from the start

    Well I'm also completely ignorant on what the download should consist of... these maps use ultimate doom, doom 2, and plutonia wad files...Would I include those in the download?

So I understand this is my first post on these forums, and I won't JUST be using the forums for issues I have, but this is a serious one, and I've seen other people having this same problem but no answers at all... My doom builder 2 program has worked GREAT for a few months until suddenly it starts crashing all the time. The error message is that I don't have JIT debugging enabled? someone said maybe its my net framework, so I tried repairing it, updating the latest version, uninstalling and reinstalling....I've tried uninstalling doom builder, reinstalling it, scanning my computer for viruses...It still crashes. My graphics card isn't the problem, so we can all refrain from throwing that idea up...It's just really disheartening because I have a megawad in the making that i've put countless hours of work into, and I really want to finish it..If anyone has any ideas as to what this is, please let me know Thanks

    Well I Deleted all of the Windows updates and turned off automatic updates, so it seems to be working fine, hopefully permanently working fine lol..Thanks for all the help!

    Possible Issue with Doom builder 2 that I can't find help with

    I'm using a texture WAD from "Doom 2: Plutonia Experiment", but it literally crashes as soon as I either open up one of my maps, or start a new map, regardless of the resources being used... As far as trying it on another computer, I should probably go do that now.. As far as specs, what exactly do you need to know? type of processor? I have a 3.40GHZ processor with 8 gigs of RAM
