  1. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ SUNS OUT GUNS OUT BABY!! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ WAD File: Summer of Slaughter - idgames - Release Version 1 + SOS_BOOM.wad Port: GZDoom - Tested in GZDoom Resources: Otex, compiled in pk3. IWAD: Doom II Comments: The Summer of Slaughter is a 38 map megawad created for the tenth edition of the Pineapple Under the Sea Speedmapping series. The event began in July of 2021 and public submissions concluded in early September 2021. Over the past half year this wad has gotten moldy in my fruit cabinet while I looked around my bedroom trying to find my computer's password so I could finish the dang thing. 5 levels were completed after the public submission window: Map10: Slaywatch and Map13: Broodgate by Death Bear; Map14: The Forgotten Offering by Peccatum Mihzamiz; Map25: The Chaosphere by myself; and Map26: Slaughter Incorpserated by Steve88. In addition, six secret levels were developed (in secret) to give this wad a little bit a' glow. The map order has been roughly organized in an 'easy to hard to really hard' order. Latter maps in the third episode will take you some time to beat; earlier maps in the set will be quicker. Although many of these maps are nearly a year old, I will be accepting map updates to many of these. However if any issues are discovered and the mapper never gets around to fixing them, those issues are gonna stay in there. SOS_BOOM is a Boom compatible version of the pk3 compiled by @Danlex. The map order is identical but UDMF maps are replaced with an intermission 'play full game!' map. Known Bugs: Map31 tends to chug a bit due to it's sheer linedef density. Fights tend to be easier when you don't look at the details. **You will need to play with your video mode set to Hardware Accelerated else some UDMF shenanigans are gonna look funky.** Change Log: MAPLIST: Screenshots: Acknowledgements: Huge thanks to all recurring PUSS mappers and the very patient participants of PUSS X who have waited very diligently for me to release this wad. This wad has some of the greatest stuff I've ever seen people cram into a PUSS. What started as a wonderful suggestion by Steve88 has blossomed into an incredible series that I am privileged to pollute the doomworld forums with. The Summer of Slaughter is a fantastic display of many incredibly talented people and it brings me great pleasure to finally squeeze it out into the world! Misc Credits: This was 'the big one.' Larger than life ambitions for little things like custom intermission screen animations made getting this bad boy out on time a long ordeal it shouldn't have been. Dropping my laptop into a volcano also didn't help matters. Special thanks to the secret mappers, Danlex, notTyrone, Pierrot, Myolden, and DeathBear for absolutely knocking the secret map gimmicks out of the park and straight into the sun! Though we didn't start calling it a vagina until the year after, our community opened its doors in 2020 and began speedmapping the day after!     Does anyone know where I could find revenant shoot frames that don't have the silver armor, a la the Melee Revenant? Working on a custom naked revenant and ideally I don't want to draw 16 revenant torsos over the silver armor.

    This is an incredible update! One question though: how does one go about adding a font to a wad? I've got a few fonts that I've made over the past few years for PUSS and this would be a godsend when assembling CWILV if I could just upload a wad to this site rather than copy pasting for hours. Likewise, how does color management on your end work? What's the best way for me to upload and color my fonts so that they transistion well when I wanna make them look pissy or poopy?

Compiled in wad. IWAD: Doom II Notes: Requires UMAPINFO compatibility! Rowdy Rudy Jones received the call at 6PM on Christmas Eve. The Nakatomi Plaza had been invaded by an unknown group of assailants. Every floor of the building has been occupied. No one has been in or out since then. No demands have been given. No hostages taken. Police have failed to breach into the building. That's why they need you, Rowdy Rudy, the best Mercenary money can buy, to clear out the building and stop this occupation quickly before Christmas morning. Payment has been given in full up front with an expected bonus upon mission completion. You are expected to clear out hostiles floor by floor and rendezvous with a helicopter team waiting on the roof. Lock and load, and yippie-kay-yay motherfucker! Die Rowdy is a 44 map megawad created as the thirty-third edition of the Pineapple Under the Sea Speedmapping series in December of 2023. Loosely Christmas themed and highly Die Hard themed, each map was made with a skyscraper prefab and an elevator, courtesy of @ViolentBeetle's Hellavator, of which players will be required to find a red keycard in order to advance to the next floor. With a custom resource pack containing weapons and enemies curated by @Doomkid for the action packed Rowdy Rudy 2: Powertrip mashed together with festive Christmas sprites from doomxmas, this skyscraper splatterfest will be sure to have wadphiles debating for years whether or not this map pack is genuinely a Christmas wad or not.   22. For those who've been in on the loop of PUSS lore and shenanigans, you may have noticed that we've been on hiatus! Only by being broken by our hiatus vacation this past July with Summer Showdown we've had a record breaking one (1) event(s) so far this year! This event hiatus has given me a shit ton of time to laze around this house doing nothing while I talk about all the work I need to do to complete our several backlog projects that caused this hiatus in the first place. One of those projects is Trick and Tear THE LIVING DEAD! A wave based zombie nightmare built for GZDoom, blah blah, advertisement, blah blah. "But BluePineapple72! This is the community projects forum! Not Wad Releases!" Right you are bucko! One of the several TODO list items that has prevented TTZ RC2 from releasing are the ZOMBIE VOICES! I, ambitiously and scope-creepingly, wanted to add homemade zombie sounds submitted by our very own community that we killed and resurrected as walking corpses!! Look at this handy zombie visualizer to get a glimpse at our wonderful hoard! We have 26 zombie types, with 9 of them already voice acted! I was doing this project in several DM channels but lost track of it over the course of two years, so I wanted to open this up to the wider doom community! To contribute, please read about my submission guidelines below. It has information about how I'll manage slot claiming as well as some voice direction regulations for what sort of noises I need and how to record them. If you want to see what they sound like in game, I have every zombie lined up together on MAP40 of the wad, so download that to get a general idea of what every zombie sounds like WHILE ALSO READING THE GUIDELINES BELOW! + To submit a claim to a zombie slot, post a comment on this thread naming the zombie you'd wish to become! To my discord members, I ask that you refrain from claiming in the TTZ channel and post here to just keep things consolidated. + Claims are valid for three (3) days, after which you will be dropped from that slot. You can only hold one slot at a time, and I will ask that you wait some time before claiming another. + I do not require professional recording setups and the like. You can use your phone to record (I did that). My only caveats are that your sound files are of good quality and that you don't peak your mic. This is also a given but please no background audio. ~ Also, please don't use any voice FX or sound effects on your voicelines. I just want your raw gross squelchy voices as they come mint from your voice box. + Each zombie falls into one of three categories, which will guide your voice acting direction for what slot you claim: - Shambler Zombies are essentially our classic formerly graved corpses that squelch and moan slowly in a desperate, yet slow, search for braaaains. They sound like they are in pain, like they are drier, fleshier, dumber, slower, zombie-ier, and moanier than the rest of the hoard! Think Night of the Living Dead! Literal walking corpses with the energy of... well a corpse! - Scientist Zombies are fresher, more intelligent zombies that are capable of using weapons and (almost but not really) complete sentences! They can have a little bit of a nerd sound to them, though that isn't necessary. What they've got that shamblers don't is a fresh and invigorated take on zombie-hood that the old and jaded undead have lost in many many bitter years of afterlife. They also sometimes groan scientific terms like "sciiience!" or "grrrallgh science!!!" This bunch has three lovely ladies that need gross gremlin voices that aren't inappropriate and don't sound like porn (I'm not joking when I say that the zombie sounds I found online in the early stages of this project were literally that, which inspired the idea to replace their sounds and eventually the rest of the hoard). I'm not going to do a DNA test or an ID check for slots claimed for the three remaining female zombies, I'll just use the honor rule that they sound woman adjacent. - Solider Zombies died and aren't too happy about it. They are faster, stronger, tougher, bigger badder better... stronger. There groans are better described as shouts really as they're firing on all cylinders trying to get you. These guys sound like the sort of lot you'd run into past round 20 on Call of Duty. Angry, loud, energized with a big ass chest full of air and really really fucking hungry. + Each Zombie needs minimum 4 different takes for 4 different sound types for a total of 16 sound files per zombie. Make sure that each sound file you send to me isn't fucking like... 8 seconds long or whatever. It would help me a lot if you already have each sound file cropped to just the sound itself without a lot of dead air. I can do more than 4 sounds per type, but anything way more than that will be a pain to implement and will increase the size of the wad tremendously, so don't overdo it pretty please! - The sound types I need are as follows: ~ Wake Sounds: The alert sound the zombie makes when it spots you for the first time and activates. Examples: GGerrrerarmmm! Braaaains! Human! ~ Roam Sounds: The ambient noises the zombie makes as it walks around looking for you. Examples: Braaains! Fleeeesh! I hunger! Stuff like that. ~ Hurt Sounds: Noises and mouth squelches the zombie makes when you shoot it. Examples: Grerraaaa! OOOOof! Ouch, brains! ~ Death Sounds: Self explanatory. Examples: AAAAAAHrrlrlrlrlrlllll! Nnnnnooaaaalllrlrlrbbb! Braiiansnssllllrrrrr! If you need help/feedback/advice/direction for recording, please let me know and I'll help direct you. + Send all of your takes to me in a zip file with each file named as such: AuthornameSoundtypeNumber. Each file would look like BP72ROAM04, MYOLDENDIE03, BEARHURT07, so on and so forth. I can use .wav and .ogg files. + So that this gets completed, I ask that you make a claim by the 26th of August.     Classic Doom - New Update on Steam

    The biggest thing I’d take away from the WAD soup thing (a la a simplification of my word soup :P) would be that there isn’t a way to divide gameplay MODs (custom enemies/weapons) and new map sets. Arguably, the former would be much more useful to mappers than players (how often do folks play through DOOM1/2 with vanilla/boom compat weapons), but it would be nice to be able to filter for them. Especially if you want to filter them out to look for new maps to play.
