E2 = Sigil > E4=E1 > E3 I like replaying E2 way more than the rest, but Sigil was a lot of fun playing it standalone without playing the other four before it. I don't really care much for any of the other 3. I don't remember much from E4 beside how annoying E4M2 is without secrets (then it becomes a cakewalk with them) and E1 has nothing going on. E3 has some nice maps but I'd rather not see Limbo again.

No the numbers do not matter for me. However I will explore the hell out of any map I like enough instead of rushing to the exit button.

I didn't say it single handedly killed the game which was already a mess, it was a nice conclusion to a long period of TF2 bot messes and drama.

I'd say it was getting terrible way before meet your match. Gun Mettle and Tough Break weren't that great and MYM was just the nail in the coffin.

Ultra Violence isn't the standard difficulty either. Most people here played long enough to become comfortable with higher difficulties but give the game to a newbie to fps games and they'll die on hey not too rough.

Gonna add another voice against Elden Ring. I was already skeptical about playing this genre but meh whatever what can go wrong? The game was good until the end of Lyndell city then it took a huge dive in quality that I was wondering if I was playing the same game or moved to a trash $10 dlc.. and that's like the later half of the insanely bloated game. I would honestly give it an 8 if I had stopped when Lyndell city ended but having dared finish it to the end through those horrible last zones I am not sure I would give it a 5 or ever replay it again. The music is pretty good at least. I'd rather freaking go back in time and use that play time to finish Oblivion instead.

Not yet but I'll probably get Ion Fury Aftershock or Strife Veteran Edition. Very hard choice since I've already played the base games before. Edit: Went with strife and had a blast, already going to replay it since I always do the Oracle side and skip half the game like a goof, oh well more play time!

I don't think so. I've played hard games and I've also played absolutely brain dead easy games. Sometimes story and art are more important to the genre than difficulty.

I don't really have issues with the map but it is kinda silly how badly balanced the map is for players who don't have the rocket timing down (an otherwise never needed skill to progress in doom 2). And the map is more fun as a survival fiesta than the intended way to currently play it anyway.

Nerf the icon of sin battle so the pillar takes 5 mins to raise and you just have to fight survival style until then, with the icon positioned so all projectiles can harm it without the timing. just because the boss always angers people and comes high in lists of things they hate. Also when they release Ultimate Doom make it an EXE that launches both doom 1 & 2. Imagine the value!!!

If there is no door locking you into an arena then you aren't forced to fight to the death in that room with honor. That's hardly what I would call an exploit, I was thinking stuff like jumping through windows to skip half a map, rocket jumping into exits or skipping traps that lower by immediately walking back and shooting all the monsters in the pit. I don't really care much and just continue playing unless it allows me to skip most of the map or if the main attraction is arenas and instead I play tower defense from an oversight camping spot.

I've replayed TNT again (didn't play it in a long time) and for some reason this play through felt much different than the previous ones. The maps I like stood the test of time mostly but damn if the maps I didn't like much before stick out even more this time. Especially the last third of the Iwad, I feel like 90% of the playtime in those maps was in dark barren caves.

I think you'll hurt your maps if you omit secrets altogether. There are players who never use huds or menus to tell them where to find secrets and how many are left and even disable the notification that they've found a secret; Secrets are one way to tell such players that they didn't find everything the map has to offer if they decide to replay. And yeah seeing monster counters and items absolutely impacts how the player will look at the map. Might even build a negative opinion about the map if they don't like the monster count (too high/low) doesn't match their preference.

I've just replayed the BFG edition and it seems fine especially if you are a new player. The only things I absolutely hate are the unskippable cutscenes and the instant death stuff like floors that suddenly disappear or fridges that fall on you to instakill you (happens if you dare run and reach where they happen, guess they assumed everyone will just be walking at snail pace). Neither have relation to the combat or light level itself.
