This is the single greatest thing I've ever seen on Twitter

This clip is highly unsuitable for people under the age of 18. If I wind up getting warned or banned for this thread (good chance), then so be it. It was imperative for me to share this Tweet. It speaks to me on a spiritual level. -
Help me to understand this story about a high school football team scoring 106 - 0

Well, the winning team's quarterback, Justyn Martin, scored 13 touchdown passes, which set a new record for the state of California. Maybe, to him, it was a hollow accomplishment, but maybe it wasn't. Regardless of what his internal feelings about this are, in no way do I think it's fair for anyone to undermine what he's worked towards as a whole. If he happens to feel a sense of accomplishment for this record, then I think that's perfectly okay and that his feelings are valid. People that are familiar with this young man generally seem to agree that he has a bright future ahead of him as an all-star prospect. I agree to an extent, but not entirely. Again, I'm having to analogize my own experiences that have come from playing competitive fighting games online for the past few years, so there's a possibility that some might think it's inaccurate of me to make the comparison between athletic, team-based sports, and video games. Learning is always best done in small steps, yes, I agree. That can apply to just about anything. When I'm competing against other players online, I always prefer it when I face people that are very close to my own level of ability. The matches are always the most enjoyable that way, and it's more comprehensible for me to analyze what I did and did not do well. However, I have learned things from getting "bodied" by people as well. There have been numerous techniques that I didn't even know existed that I picked up by studying what my opponent was doing to beat me down with. I'm also well aware of the arguments and contrasts regarding positive and negative reinforcement, and I've always held firmly in the belief that positive reinforcement is a lot better than negative reinforcement. And that kind of relates to how I reacted to hearing about this in the first place. It wasn't "wow, that team really sucked", but rather "wow, that team was really good." Regarding the losing team being "humiliated", I really don't see it that way. I don't think anyone should ever feel humiliated for losing badly at a competitive game. I know it's a really cliched, and maybe even corny thing to say, but I always believe in just doing your best at something. So long as someone tries their best and has a positive attitude, I see no failure whatsoever on their part, regardless of what the numbers might say. Here's a specific personal example, and again, maybe not the best analogy, but it is a thing. A few months ago, I had a show match with the world's second-best Samurai Shodown player following a tournament that I played in. I've won 5 tournaments to date and have had Twitch commentators say that I'm one of the best players in the world (something I disagree with), but there is a massive skill gap between myself and whom I consider to be the second-best player in the world. In fact, I'd say there's a massive skill gap between whom I regard as the third-best player in the world and the second-best player in the world. The two best SSVSP players in history are really on an entirely different level than everyone else I've ever seen. Anyways, I think the final score was 14 - 1 or something close to that. And personally, I didn't feel the least bit embarrassed or humiliated. I played well according to my level of ability, and that's really all I can ever expect from myself. I also remember thinking to myself "I need to teleport into 5A/n.5A with Amakusa (my opponent's character) more than I do", so I did learn something from the series of matches. -

Obscure and low-budget movies thread (and maybe lesser known Hollywood movies from the major studios and possibly direct to video & TV movies)

Miami Connection is a very special movie. It's about a rock & roll group who practice Taekwondo and get into a turf war with a group of ninjas that deal cocaine. Noteworthy for its hilariously bad acting and unironically great original soundtrack. -
MJF recently got a lot of heat with the audience during AEW Dynamite for insulting Skyline Chilli, and apparently, Skyline Chili is an institution of pride in Cincinnati. I'd never heard of it before, but I was intrigued enough to look into it. From what I've heard people say, if you're from Cincinnati, then you love it, and if you're not, then you hate it. I absolutely love a good chili myself, but putting chili on top of spaghetti just looks bizarre to me. I also love piling a lot of cheese on my chili, but I'm baffled as to why anyone would put that much cheese on their chili. Chili dogs with Sriracha sauce and cheese are amazing, but again, why so much cheese? What exactly is going on here? Oh yeah, I almost forgot. At the end of the aforementioned episode of AEW Dynamite, hometown hero Jon Moxley got the entire audience to join together in singing the song from the Skyline Chili commercials. The people of Cincinnati sure do love their Skyline Chili, but to me, it looks like a mess that you'd need to be stoned in order to enjoy.

I was somewhat into DDO and Kingdom of Loathing for a time. For the time required to get anywhere in MMOs, I'd rather just play a whole lot of other things.

Explain to me what the deal with Skyline Chili is
[McD] James replied to [McD] James's topic in Everything Else
Cincinnati is a city in Ohio, so I don't know what you're on about. A Google search for Skyline Chili locations in Ohio will reveal that there exists an abundance of Skyline Chili locations in close proximity to one another across the state. There are a lot of locations in Columbus, Dayton, and Covington. So obviously, there are people in Ohio who are fans. I read this as "y'all need to fucking chili." -

I've never actually played Raze, myself. How does it compare to NBlood, which is what I played through Blood on? -

Yeah, you need a membership though, which I don't have. CostCo is the only place I know of in Ontario that carries Natrel Eggnog. Bastards. -
