Hi so life's alright
I'm incredibly lazy, like right now I should get to my genetics "homework", idk how to call it, assignment is too strong of a word
I sleep a lot and cannot function properly unless I get literally 11 hours of sleep, a quite recent development since 8 used to be more than enough
I've completed Half-Life 2 in the past few days, first new game I played in months if not years, I liked it a lot!
Gaining new friends slowly but surely, it ain't hard folks!! Helps to pretend you're a bit more of a dummy than you actually are. I mean as a foreigner here I am already a bit of a dummy in the locals' eyes by default.
Really low on $$$ until I man up and find a job. I plan to do that after this semester so that I don't get too caught up during exams.
Until then yeah I guess forced vegetarianism, and I'm already skinny as heck. Turns out my body spends over 3k calories per day. I can not afford to eat that much.
Is this really that adult life people talk about? Sometimes I can't really wrap my head around the fact that I'm a person with my own will now. Like I can do what I want, for real. I mean unless we count buying stuff right now. Weird stuff, really weird stuff, even weirder when you consider that everyone probably went through this
Btw looking at my 11 warning points on the left sidebar brings me back to the good old days when i still gave a shit about the internet, thanks @Linguica it's appreciated from this distance! I wish I still got that excited about stuff that don't even exist in reality. FFS I was 14 when I registered here, now I'm close to goddamn 19 years old what the FUCK, those two are barely even the same person anymore
LMAO I even still have 4x more profile views than new people with 4x bigger postcounts, this place really became boring without me I see!

11 hours to function? That’s harsh man, any idea why? This is why I’m glad I live in COMMUNIST Australia, I can go to the dr and have shit like that checked out without selling my house. Hopefully that’s possible in your area of Europastan.
Its good to make friends ofc but be weary of the ones you have to “dumb down” to hang around, it gets draining after a while, when you’re OLD AND GREY ON 30’S EDGE you’ll be tired of it. Or maybe not idk lol just saying how it went for me. All of the friends I keep nowadays are able to talk about things beyond the surface level BS and it’s much better

Good to hear from you, man. I hope you land a job soon and start making some money, then it actually will be that adult life thing you’ve been told so much about. Also you really shouldn’t need 11 hours, memes aside that’s still a shitload. It could be down to development though, I recently read that people in their teens and early 20’s crave sleep because of the energy that gets put towards growth/development. Something along those lines, anyway.

Hi, so I slept 10 hours last night but I still feel kinda tired, like my body isn't tired but my brain is. Like I'm acting super dumb and super slow, as I usually do when I'm sleepy. (when I'm not, I'm just plain dumb and slow AS YOU MIGHT HAVE GUESSED)
My sleep schedule is normally kinda insufficient but fairly consistent and I put effort into keeping it that way. (2230 plus minus half an hour till 0645, last night I went to sleep at 2105 though)
I don't have insomnia or anything, I usually fall asleep immediately after going to bed.
What to do, should I sleep more? Less??? Drink more water or something? Fall asleep to rain sounds?????? What do you recommend?

I think drawing gore and looking at it can be a good therapeutic experience sometimes. I've noticed for example that animal corpses found on the street used to disturb me, but now they almost give me a peaceful feeling. By getting closer to the darker sides of this world and gradually accepting them as a natural part of it I find myself worrying less about trifle things, and even about tragedies. It's just easier to live if you expose yourself to unpleasant things instead of hiding from them in fear.

My laptop's drive HDD so I had it replaced, also had Windows 10 installed on it since the OS had to be reinstalled anyway.
It's surprisingly neat af, so far literally like Win7 but better!
Has the night light dimming thing built in, YO HOW COOL IS THAT! Required some minor messing around in the Device Manager though.
So yeah Win10 is nice
Ah yes, other than the fact that you can't prevent it from downloading updates and I'm on a USB modem
Also there's both a "Settings" and a "Control Panel". Which is confusing, because you never know which one you need.

Just updated my 6-year old version of VLC player and I can max the volume only up to 125%, not to 200% as I used to be able to??????
Never update your software!!! Now I need to search the blessed version 2.0.5 again!!!

Well guess what. Silly me thought he could trust the internet. The heretical crippling of VLC happened a version before, 2.1.0. I learned this the hard way. So I hopped between 4 different versions, deleted my settings in the process and now my journey peacefully ended at 2.0.8.
Gucci Gang is loud again. Very loud.

Biggest problem with later versions of VLC: speeding up used to have that funny chipmunk effect, but now it just makes the playback faster without changing the pitch. :(((

OK now I'm kinda seriously getting into XXXTentacion's stuff. This guy is... strange.
It seems that this dude has at least one song of literally every genre and sound ever made. People seem to think that he's a mumble rapper like Lil Pump or whatever, but in fact this guy is... I have no idea what this guy is. I can't classify him.
He's got songs that are like CAN'T KEEP MY DICK IN MY PANTS AYY, but also real-ass heavy metal stuff filled with screams of pure goddamn anger, then really soothing rambles about depression and stuff, also strong songs about love and feelings... anything.
The depressive stuff of his is indeed very... moving and touching, but I'm probably still too merry-go-round to fully embrace it (thank god eh?). You can really feel his emotions through his music.
But at the same time he's got some songs that are so cheerful and positive that you simply can't form a coherent impression of him. It's almost a shock how much do his songs differ, even on one album.
XXXTentacion was a special, one-of-a-kind guy, from what I can see. Probably more troubled inside than I can even comprehend, but also so optimistic and willing to commit to something bigger, I guess, at the same time.
Ugh folks, I don't know, he had so much in front of him, and he had an undoubtedly enormous talent. In any case, I recommend everyone here to give him a shot. Especially if you've been dismissing him because "you don't like rap" or whatever. I'm sure many of you here would empathise.

As for the gay dude, apparently he beat him because he was staring at him naked? All in all, I don't think he was homophobic, just angered by the behaviour of one specific gay guy.
I mean if a woman beat up a straight guy for staring at her, it would suddenly be a-ok and completely justified, right? This is the same situation.
What would you do if you were him?
And besides, does all this really matter if the music is good??? Yeah he may have done some bad things in the past, but when you sum up his deeds, you end up with a positive IMO.

He may not be a good guy, but you can't deny his lasting impact on modern rap. We shouldn't ignore the fact that his music had a lot of positive impact to it's listeners, even if his actual character can't live up to his musical legacy.
@bzzrak, there's no reason to justify his use of violence. Unless you're in a self-defense position, violence will not solve anything and will hurt the people you attack both physically and mentally. People will continue to be hurt by that act even after they say they forgive you.

I mean the, err, perception behind how I could had afford myself the audacity to treat people like, ehm... *excrement* (sorry Ling :D ) just b'coz I could produce AWSUM MUZAK n' stuff.
But I have to side w/ the fellow lads at this point. Mind the perfect past tense above - being an artist (or sportsman, politician, whatever high-respected member of our society) doesn't make all - or, in particular, any - misdeeds you've committed legitimate, neither suddenly, nor via time passing by. It's an epidemic core infection of perception that these popular people love to believe and act accordingly, and common citizens also have a huge tendency to think so.
I know that you mean right, and also know the rule "praise the dead or leave them alone". But remember, not all influential people are known for solely their virtues.

Don't worry that much. Have you written the final exams? If so, it is a waiting game, until you get the grades and if you go to college and stuff, the only thing that is kinda scary is the lack of order. It can get really easy to slack off the whole day, because you can spend your time any way you want.
But if you have a good schedule and study regularly (you don't have to study for hours like in high school - 1 hour each day is definitely good and even a bit less than that is OK - plus, you can do small revisions at weekends on what you learned for the week).
Also, being present in every lecture in college (or whatever the lessons there are called in English) and taking good clean notes is really helpful (if you write slowly or you are not that good with taking notes, take photos of others' notes - they won't mind if you ask them).
