  1. Probably a very noobish question to people familiar with modding Doom 3, but after getting back into Doom 3 in anticipation of the new Doom, I've been trying to get the Double Barrel Shotgun from RoE into Doom 3 to no avail so far. I found a couple mods (specifically Absolute HD and Denton Enhanced Doom 3) that do add the Double Barrel Shotgun into the base game, but they also have graphical, gameplay and animation tweaks that I don't want. I just want to be able to port the DB Shotgun into the game and hopefully have it spawn normally in the maps during the campaign so I don't have to pull down the console to spawn it. So is there any way I can do that? Thanks. EDIT: I FINALLY GOT IT WORKING! The mod works perfectly now (for the most part). The gun toggles properly, the ammunition reserves are correct, the gun loads in the maps, the gun has proper HUD and PDA elements (outside of an extra "slot" on the gun bar). It works. Here's the final version for anyone who wants to try it out. https://www.dropbox.com/s/lp1e0i5f7l0c135/Doom%203%20Double%20Barrel%20Shotgun.zip?dl=0

    The Doom Confessional Booth

I played Doom 3 first. And played Doom 3 more than the originals.

Demons not attacking me after changing race.

I already did. Map ID is 5C8SP4WK
  4. So I'm attempting to create the Doom Comic within SnapMap. For the berserk power in the beginning of the comic, I substituted with the Demon Rune. After rampaging for a bit as the demon, I turn the player back into a human after hitting a certain trigger, but for some reason the enemies mostly stop attacking me after this. I know for certain it's due to the Demon Rune as I tried a run without ever using the demon rune and the enemies attacked me as usual. Is this a glitch? Is there a workaround? What's going on?

    Favorite rune.

Rich Get Richer because of how OP it is. Spamming the Super Shotgun and Siege Mode on the Gauss Cannon with infinite ammo is amazing, especially since if you play a mission from mission select, you start out with the base amount of ammo (no Argent upgrades) but you start with full health and armor (with Argent upgrades), so it's very useful. In-flight mobility is the most fun, as it allows me to zip around the battlefield all the time.

    Doom stream

Lots of action and explosions Level design is pretty good Lore is substantial but out of the way Nightmare is hard as balls SnapMap lets you create and save maps offline even without servers. Multiplayer doesn't seem to work without servers, though, so it seems like bot support is unofficial at best. Classic levels are there but people say it looks bad. Looked fine to me but whatever.

SnapMap can save maps even without the server, so that's cool. It has full offline functionality for that aspect it seems.

Phrozo Particles 2 for Sikkmod 1.2

Cool! I'll try it out and see how it functions.

    Doom stream

I'm just wanting something as long as Doom 3 or WTNO, and it seems to be shaping up to be that. Then again, if the gameplay rhythm is good, I can replay it endlessly. Put over 200 hours in Doom 3 and that's just the Steam version.

    Doom stream

Over a false reason. You claim the game is 8 hours which it isn't. The stream before it went down was bordering on 10 and he skipped most things.

Phrozo Particles 2 for Sikkmod 1.2

I created a mod that ported Doom 3 RoE's DB Shotgun to vanilla Doom 3 and got it compatible with Phrozo by pulling the script file from the mod. Did you modify this for the new version?

    Doom stream

The original Doom could be beaten in 4-5 hours, so... This is actually around Doom 3's length.

    Doom stream

More like 10 and he skipped most of the secrets, so it'd be more like 13 if you were playing normally.

    Doom hitting 200 FPS @ 1080p using GTX 1080 w/ Vulkan

BFG is specialized from what I saw like the chainsaw. The singleplayer stream showed that he could carry a total of three shots at once and the chainsaw didn't seem to replenish that ammo. So the only "big" guns with plentiful ammo are rockets and the Gauss Cannon, and even those have drawbacks to balance (Gauss Cannon uses multiple plasma rounds per shot and rockets are low ammo and cause splash damage to you). Yes, ammo shouldn't be spammed, they should be switched accordingly based on the situation and it seems like Doom is doing that regarding the weapons.

    Doom hitting 200 FPS @ 1080p using GTX 1080 w/ Vulkan

To me it depends on the weapon. Most "normal" guns are designed to be suitable for different scenarios and enemies and thus should be abundant. Power weapons like the BFG are essentially "fuck this, save me" weapons and should give low ammo to compensate for their extreme power. Seems like that's what they're doing with this design so I'm good. Doom 3 BFG Edition's problem wasn't that you were perpetually stocked on ammo. Vanilla Doom 3 let you do that too if you knew where to look and found all the secrets. When I play Doom 3 these days, I constantly have full ammo for all my guns except maybe the BFG 9000. The problem with Doom 3 BFG was that it gave you so much ammo normally that there was no longer any incentive to explore for extra ammo, thus rendering one of the major design aspects of Vanilla Doom 3 irrelevant.

No early Doom review copies for anyone

That being said, this is Bethesda we're talking about. Fallout 4's embargo was literally a day before release and Wolfenstein The New Order's embargo was the launch day. So it's probably business as usual for Bethesda.

No early Doom review copies for anyone

I'm just speculating here, but could it be that they're not releasing review copies because they're doing some last minute changes to the multiplayer after the open beta?

    Theory for new DOOM Story

My theory was Doom 1 and 2 happened, Doom 64 was the followup which ended with Doomguy entombed in a chamber after deciding to stay in Hell. Doom 3 happened hundreds of years later with the ancient Martians and teleportation being the old UAC and the Chamber of the Hero housing the original Doomguy. Finally, the new NEW UAC in Doom 2016 find the tomb, unearth it, and then eventually reactivate it to kill the demons once more. So it's like an endless repeating cycle of Doomguys beating Hell's ass. And this time, Hell acknowledges his badassery and shits their pants in his presence.

I always thought it was a sequel, hence stuff like "you've returned".

    More SP [SPOILERS] from IGN

They did something similar with Doom 3 and its demon museum, though not to this extent. Actually loving how they're taking the best elements of Doom 3 and combining it with the fast paced combat of classic Doom.

Dat first line of dialogue.. hot damn

They're both women? Come to think of it, this is now a grand total of three women in the entire mainstream Doom series, and the first one lasted 3 seconds before turning into a Lost Soul in Doom 3. lol Though Doom 2 RPG did have Kira Morgan (I think that's her name).

    Why are the new Hellknights...

Doom 3's Hell Knights were actually intended to be Barons, at least in terms of toughness. Doom 4's Hell Knights seem weaker in comparison simply because legit Barons are back and Hell Knights are relegated back to their Doom 2 status. I say that because the ammo needed to take down Hell Knights in Doom 3 are similar to the ammo needed to take down Barons in Doom 1 and 2. The Hell varient of the Hell Knight is just a retextured Hell Knight. Imps have a similarly different skin, for example (bit more fleshy looking).
