Alan Wake FINALLY Coming to the PC

I had it on Xbox. Didnt think it was anything to write home about.

    Early Internet experiences

Earliest memory was in 94-95, getting my dad to help me find picture of a mask I could replicate for a primary school project. Yahoo very slowly loaded up and we searched for tribal masks - the image search then would display one at a time and take 10-20 seconds to load.

    Trine 2

I enjoyed the first one, it managed to join ranks of the few games I bother to complete. Love the art style, the music, etc. Preordered a while ago to get access to the beta. I have played for about an hour now. Not many co-op games going. Wish there were more in-depth puzzles
  4. I joined briefly and had my ass handed to me. Didn't help I didnt know the maps, but I'll come to the next :)

    Steam gets hacked

Who said I was? I have a credit card as it offers fairly good protection and has an extremely low limit. Its the banks money that will be lost, not mine, unlike a debit card.

    Steam gets hacked

I changed my password to be safe, though my credit crd details were stored. I'll get it changed when the bank is open. Pain in the ass.

    The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

30 minutes in and I got killed by villagers as I slaughtered a chicken. Game is a lot of fun, played about 4 hours so far, playing the main quest. Glad I got it A few niggles: Horses are useless. Esp since you can't fight, use magic on horse back. Though same as oblivion (horses were more useful, faster). Menus are a little inconsistent - some you have to use the mouse, others the keys with no indication. At times try and change something with the mouse, then the keys stop working forcing you to cancel and go back in to restore them.

RAGE is apparently a very solid game!

Have played for about two hours now. I find the missions a bit tedious - go here, get told to go elsewhere, repeat ad nauseum. But its something a little different. I've played this longer than I did Fallout 3 (played for 1 hour, haven't played it since). Issues I've had so far: Popup messages don't show the mouse cursor unless I open the main menu and go back Certain objects don't have clipping/collision detection so I can shoot rockets through them. The predictable nature of the enemy vehicles, and their limited areas they can travel (ie they dont chase you outside of their predefined areas). No way I've seen to check your inventory unless you try to sell items? No journal to see your progress on missions? Inability to shoot RC car bombs from vehicles The betting mini games bug out from time to time - clicking roll or exit does nothing, forcing a reload.

Have an HTC Desire with 2.2. Compared with iOS, the Android is quite slow. I don't know what kind of optimizations Apple was able squeeze in, but it is very fluid in its screen updates, movements, animation. Even just flicking the screen across on the Android you can see a visible stuttering, like it was suffering from bad frame rate. If you havent performed a particular action in a while, its evident it has to load it by the slight pause before it initiates. I never see this on iOS. My main bug bear with Android is performance. The next would be the menu system, which is what I was referring to with my unintuitive comment. Its all over the place - I still havent figured out why its ordered the way it is. The market runs like complete ass. That said, I enjoy using both and while I disagree with the way Apple does its business and tries to control the users decisions and freedom, I haven't struck any problems with it and they do produce quality hardware and OS. Android is getting there and is pretty damn good for free OS. I will stick with it. But I wouldnt say no to an iPhone, if it were free :)

Flatmate went and bought a new Iphone today, 900AU$. The first thing he said? Its just like his old one. Thats a bit beyond me. @Maes, I have an Android phone and an Ipad. iOS wins out in every way. Android is slow and unintuitive by comparison. So I wouldnt call it a better alternative. I always stayed away from Apple products and have had an android since they became available, but once I got an Ipod I slowly changed my opinion. People go on about a walled garden with Apple products, but I've not had any issues - I've had the ipad cracked, but have not had it any use for it. Far as Im concerned I have the both of best worlds.

List of "Call of Duty Clones"

Which is why I said wannabe, not clone. I've a fondness for MOHAA that COD never earned.

    P. Jackson, S. Spielburg talk Tintin movie

Sorry, seems I lost my reading comprehension hat.
  22. Bought an external one years ago, never used it. I haven't used one in years actually. I stopped giving free tech support and got rid of all the old PCs I had, so never needed one. Bootable flash drives have been more than sufficient for my needs.

There is absolutely no indication they would do this. Certainly nothing in the trailer to indicate that.

    old guard represent!

I notice a distinct lack of dn in this thread, despite him being the thread poster. I suspect he'd only come back to say we monged his thread up. Then not post for months.
