I honestly think the onset of the anime avatar revolution drove him away, since these events nearly coincide with one another...

  2. In school there were a lot of different subjects, often IMO pretty useless stuff like chemistry where I couldn't understand anything at all. But what about human interaction? How to properly hold a conversation, how to be attentive and respectful of other people, how not to be an egotistical douche, how to be a good friend/lover? I was never taught any of this aside from some extremely basic stuff like "treat others the way you want to be treated", which I guess helped a bit but not much. So how am I expected to gain all that knowledge? You could say that it should naturally come with experience. However, I'm 23 years old already and yet I still suck a lot at most of that stuff. So what did I miss? Maybe there was a special class on one of these days when I decided to fake illness, stay home and play some Diablo 2?

Watch the film The Lobster. It's very instructive in this regard.

Didn't you just make a thread (in EE) about how much the movie sucks?

School doesn't teach you anything useful for the real world besides maths and whatever language you speak. I'd like to have been taught things like computer science which I missed out on by 4 years when they introduced it, how to do taxes, how to get a house, how to have a social life and all that stuff. I'm 19, jobless and have like one friend irl so go me.

  3. 200 - 169 = 31, but if I say that I watched episodes 169-200 of Detective Conan, that means that I watched 32 episodes. This just doesn't feel right. How do I learn to count this stuff correctly and, more importantly, how do I convince my brain that the method is indeed correct?

extremely basic stuff, but apparently not a terribly uncommon problem:

here's a thread where the explanations might be easier to understand:

My method of turning math/logic principles from unintuitive to intuitive for my brain is thinking of concrete analogies with small numbers and/or a small range of numbers. If you know you watched episodes 9-10, it's clear that you watched 2 in total. If they were 9-11, it's 3 in total. Basic, but whatever. If you repeat thinking about this analogy every time you're in doubt, and at least several times over a longer period of time, it should get intuitive even for larger numbers.

Just remember that in the first example, you are stating the difference. In the second example, you are counting everything.

      It tastes offensive, but whatever.

  5. "The nice thing about being a celebrity is that when you bore people, they think it's their fault."

??? Why would they think it's their fault? Usually celebrities are boring when they are stupid, unoriginal, talentless, etc.

Kissinger would know a few things about boring people. I don't think the man could break an octave if he was put through a wood chipper feet first. In fact, that's do that to him right now.

  6. My level was chosen for world battle cup in Elastomania. It was used for the bonus event that took place when europeans are usually sleeping, so not many people participated but it still had some nice competition: http://elmaonline.net/battles/106755 And the win rec kicks ass: http://www.recsource.tv/r/nqijvudyzt :D

Sounds like shit business practice considering how much effort it can take to shit out such dreadful content.

It's far from ideal, for sure, but the general safe bet of making money on junk means that studios are able to fund their more ambitious and more niche projects, too, so it still works out in accordance with Sturgeon's law.

It's also weird that a random crash would be such an issue, when GZDB shows a prompt for restoring a map from an automatic backup when it's reopened after a crash.

  9. Just curious. I'm not the happiest person in the world, sometimes I get kinda scary thoughts but so far I prefer trying to become happier by myself, slowly learning to appreciate life more, stuff like that. If you feel comfortable talking about this, please tell about your experiences with psychologists\antidepressants (did they help at all?) or why you're also avoiding them even though it is possible that you might need them.

Ummmm, no, Geodon is not lithium. Geodon isn't evil it just makes you very tired. As I said earlier not "all" antipsychotics are sedetives, some are, such as geodon and seraquil, I'v taken both. They help. Especially for schizophrenia. That trance your talking about, is far less harmfull then fullblown psychosis. You've a very interesting view on medications. MZLXS, I'm so sorry. life can be cruel. (edit)As your friends doctor should have told him, the more we go into psychosis, the worse schizophrenia can get due to Flooding. It's important for us to avoid this. If your friend doesn't like the meds he's on he should speak to his pdoc and see if any other meds would better suite him if he's treatable.

They take Geodon which is lithium. Lithium is found in the spodume crystal.

Geodon, aka ziprasidone or Zeldox, is an atypical antipsychotic. It's used to treat schizophrenia, and also the "mixed states" associated with bipolar disorder. Geodon is most definitely not a lithium salt. Hell, it's compound is C21 H21 Cl N4 O S.

Lithium is an element, and the type used for medication is a salt of lithium. It's used for bipolar disorder and can act as a mood stabilizer. It's also been used as medicine in general since the 19th century. "Spodume" (aka, spodumene) is just a type of crystal that is a source for lithium, and mentioning it has very little relevance to lithium as a medication.
